Post-war Britain, I think. I'd be interested to just see ordinary people go about their daily living...

I love this quote from T-2. I've thought the same thing but in a completely different context. I would like to go back to the early 70s, & rescue my younger self from a horrific home & school life. I would walk up to me as a young girl & tell her to "come with me if you want to live." I'd get her out of a place where there was intense hatred, & give her the love she never had up to that point. It would be the kindest thing I could do. Rescue her or show up with an AK 47 & turn her into a quivering mound of flesh. Somedays, I'm very torn. As I still grapple with hatred for the child I used to be. But then there's the paradox of going back in time to do that.

I would go back in time to when I was 15, and wanted to enter a private school to get away from the abuse and dysfunction at my home. And this time I would make sure that I got away. Who knows how my life would have improved for the better, if I had a better start?

i would not go anywhere.
i could not suddenly occupy a new space that was already occupied by other atoms unless they were moved out of the way before i popped into that space at that particular time.

when i was child, i had a dream that i found a time machine, and i chose to return to the time of the dinosaurs, but when i got there i was inextricably fused inside the trunk of a very large tree which happened to occupy the spot where i popped into.
later on i realized there would be a massive explosion resulting from my atoms trying to occupy space already occupied by other atoms.

i would not go anywhere else than the space i "own" which is the space at the time in which i exist.

if you got in a time machine and went back to another time, then you would die instantly when you got there, and since that occurrence would be "instantaneous", it would not happen in actual time, and it therefore would not affect history.

could somebody please explain why [in various time travel tales] the writers often put in a clause that the time traveler's cells cannot tolerate being in the different time era and thus limit the amount of time they are in the past or future [on pain of death after a short while in the new time]? this plot device was most recently used in "AI-Artificial Intelligence" when it was specified that [android boy] david's beloved mother, once her surviving cells were cloned into a new body 2000 years after her death, could not live more than a day before dying once more. before that, it was used in the TOS episode "all our yesterdays." thanx in advance.

The end of the last Star Trek movie refuted that myth

Either 1964 or 1992 or perhaps even later than that like the turn of the millenium onwards. Definately not forward.

Back to 1997, when I was just 7 years old. I enjoyed being ages 7 to 11 (even though I was diagnosed with this disability in that time. But I did manage to sweep it under the carpet right up until now).

I'd travel back to last night and make the Canucks win the hockey game.

If I am going back in time I think I would like to see the dinosaurs up close. If I survived that experience intact I would stop off in the Middle Ages to see how Pox and plague reshaped the world we live in, and finally off to the Old West and see if I could get me a Wanted poster of me before I left. Then I would head off into the future to see what ends up happening with everything- like jumping to the end of the book to see if things are as predictable as they seem.

3000, but I'll be peeved if it's not as good as Futurama or Busted have told us.

Other than that, anytime during The Beatles' touring years. Well, I'd have to get my hands on tons of old money if I wanted to see them. I would also be deafened by the screaming of thousands of crazy women.

I'd travel back to 2007, keep my job at Core Bumpers and go back to my 60s Mod roots 2 years sooner. The supervisor there was nice.
