Thanks!
That almost looks alive, like the colours are actually moving and bubbling up - and I bet the photograph does it no justice at all.
(I feel like a 6 year-old just before Christmas now  )

Cornflake do you have $55 to spend? even if you dont, you should go through your room and collect you old CDs you dont listen too and sell them. I'm shure you could get 55 bucks.

buy this one.

Its beautiful. i almost bought it, Taupey yes it is nice to see things before you buy them. you seem like the type of person that loves the swap meet. Of course theres always good looking fire agate at them

I know some people who sell gems and minerals and there is the huge gem and mineral show in Tucson too. I've never bought any of my rocks at a swap meet. I imagine people might sell some things there. I would rather go to the shows and talk to my friends about them and then go out and see what's out there. I have to touch and feel things. I guess I'm weird like that.

I have my babies all packed up but I need to get them out and take pictures to show you what I have. It will probably take me a couple of weeks or so. I need to move things around and locate them first.

Excellent, thanks for that. I saw it when I looked earlier and wondered. "Hmm. Should I?..."
But now I wonder no more because - I've bought it! :bounce:

I'll post some pics once it arrives!

Wow, that's beautiful, congratulations Cornflake.

Ooooo...so much pretty, and ethically sourced.

This makes me sad that I can remember nothing of my Geology 'special interest'
I'd have sold my granny (no, seriously) for examples like these.

Ooh, so we did!

 Yeah, I'm getting all stressed out waiting for it now...
As a distraction I'm going to dig out some extension tubes I have for my macro lens and have a practice run at doing some really close photography. I may have to use some additional lighting, and I'm hoping that a small halogen light I have will be fairly close to daylight. It looks Ok through a spectrograph, but I'll experiment and see.

's funny - on my fairly regular visits to the Science Museum and Natural History Museum in London, I also used to visit the Geological Museum. That was nice because there was hardly ever anyone else in there. I never took this up as a study interest although it always was an interest - just not a special interest.
Somewhere on a drive here I have a few pictures I took when I was last there a few years ago, and at the risk of morphing this thread into a geology thread I'll post a couple of the more interesting ones.

I'm also moving at the end of this month to santa rosa california so I know what its like to pack up all of your babies not being able to see them. What a nightmare!

So you are moving to California. Santa Rosa? OMGS this pain medication is turning me into a mindless zombie. ehm... Please tell me where is this Santa Rosa, I don't remember?

Ooo... Never mind I know where Santa Rosa is. It's North of SF and West of Sacramento. I have family around in that area. Actually I have family all over California. It's beautiful place.

Yep the move is back on. I guess my dad already reserved a truck and said we can rent a two bedroom apartment there for around $985. plus my whole dads side of the family lives there.

And once my grandmother dies i'll be reciving a large sum of money. or my dad will wich i will essentially be taking from him, :P

I'm just kidding. i'd never do that because well, I'm a angel. :pig:

Thats cool you have family there. it is a beautiful place, and so close to the beach, SF, and the sierra nevadas

Well that will be a nice change. I'm happy your father is helping with the move and that you have family there so you won't be all alone. I don't know if I told you or not, both my kids are living in California now. I have numerous cousins and a few aunts and uncles who live throughout California. I hope the move goes well. :alien:

The moving truck alone is going to cost over $600. Then, once i get there I'll have to live with my auntie for about a month until april so me and my dad can save enought for a apartment.
Its going to be nice, Although I dont remember there being too many Rock&Gem stores Or sportscard shops in Santa Rosa.

Thats nice you have family there. Are you still moving to Arizona?

Yes, but not as quickly as I wanted too. I'll be traveling back and forth anyway once I do move back there and get my travel trailer ready. I'm working on tracing my family ancestry back to Europe and I still need to do some research back here in the East.

Hey but you have beautiful SF South of Santa Rosa, to check out surely they would have some nice Rock&Gem stores and sportscard shops too.

I want to get all my babies out and look at them, I haven't seen them forever.
