Tomorrow will be a much better day. I've always looked forward to the day after Valentine's Day. The chocolate is cheaper and It's the birthday of my favourite rock star.

I can't stand Valentines Day either. I'm single now, but I have had boyfriends in the past. Just never liked it. I can't stand the Kay Jewelers commercials especially.  "Every kiss beings with Kay."

Dude me too.. I used to get so irritated with that commercial when I was a little kid, mostly because the phrase 'Every kiss begins with Kay' actually starts with an E, not a K, or a Kay!! GAHH!

The tv is lying to me!

Go check out the Photoshop Phriday "Rejected Valentines cards" from 2001 on the somethingawful site. Some of these are just pure win.

I think that picture is kind of sweet.

Anyway, for all who are not enjoying V Day, good news, it will soon be over! I am now in the 15th, and have left that dratted day behind me! It is gone!! For another 364 days!! It was about as much fun as being chased by Genghis Khan and his army.

Why be nice to people just one day out of the year. Valentine's Day shouldn't be a Halmark holiday. Those card makers will find any excuse to make a buck. What next? 4th Of July and Canada Day cards? Give me a break.

Since reading this thread it made me realise that there is a vast number of differing interpretations of what Valentine's Day means to various people.Myself? I'll be brutally honest to say, that I don't have much acknowledgement of the day as, this is not due to being single rather I simply don't take part in celebrating it that's all.I mean no hostility towards those of whom address in his/her own unique manner..

To be completely honest I don't care for valentines day, but it has also been around much longer than Hallmark shops have been . I think it's obvious that if someone only showed their affection for their partner one day a year that the relationship would also not even last until valentines day :P.

I think it's just meant to be a special day for couples or something. Really though I can't see valentines day as being any less different than Christmas. On Christmas you are at least expected to give gifts... one can give gifts year round. Some do... so holidays have little point in general other than making those who forget to do those things feel bad and obligated to :P.

Hehe one of the only holiday's practice that can't be done year round is Halloween :P... Imagine knocking on doors with a scary mask asking for candy in July

Hehe. Maybe there should be "Surprise Halloween" as well. Wherein it's perfectly acceptable to dress up in costume and go knocking on people's doors at any time of year.

Or maybe singles should put scary masks on and knock on doors demanding candy, on Valentine's Day.

You gotta be kidding me, if you don't like a holiday don't celebrate as opposed to wasting your energy protesting it.
