christopher_m is a nut case - but I don't think he's a troll. He's just not that clever at pretending or that persistant. He couldn't remember anything I wrote to him longer than an hour - if that.

What I think happened was Hale Bopp was in an msn conversation with someone else (emp?), and they both have different ids with MSN, and Hale Bopp started a converastion up with Mr Mark without informing him it was Hale Bopp (which would be a reasonable thing to do if your MSN id is different).

I have made the same mistake myself. To the point where I put aka <forum name> in the MSN id to help aleviate the confusion.

I know quite a few of us have said we'd post any more rude PMs we got from christopher_m - but this is ridiculous. It was certainly strange but it wasn't abusive.

The thing about "never give out your credit card or password" is a standard part of MSN these days. It's a bit like the "don't stick your knife in the toaster" warnings.

I will repeat. It is incredibly rude to post chat logs into a public forum. Even if you are sure it is the evil troll who has hacked a whole lot of accounts.

I am very sure that christopher_m is not adabatstone or whatever its name was.

Yes there is similar desperation followed by abuse, but Adabatstone was persistent, but not obsessed with women. And Adabatstone didn't post his real name and phone number and location (how dumb was that?) which could be used to find the web page, the photo and the personal life details.

I just remembered something.

I pm'ed a few times with Chris, very polite, no ugly words or anything like that

The strange thing was when he pm'ed me for the first time he knew my real name, and that puzzeled me. I never got around to ask him how he knew it, and then he stopped posting me.

So maybe he is a hacker
