That's a very silly statement to make. Europe is made up of about 50 sovereign states, all with widely divergent health care systems - both public and private, and sometimes a mixture of both - and they all vary in quality. I would definitely be prepared to risk the French system over our own, for instance, which can often be dire. (But is good enough for Nigerian interlopers, seemingly...)

Yes there is, and quite close to where you'll be living - you just have to climb a mountain to get to it (eg Mount Ranier)

You don't have to climb to see the snow. You can drive to it...

It even snowed all over the East coast back in December. I-95 was all backed up for the salt trucks, and that's very close to the coast, down around South Carolina and Georgia. It rarely ever snows there. Were in for some huge climate changes; this is only the beginning. I live far from the mountains, and we've gotten quite a bit of snow in the past two winters I've been here.

There sure are a lot of northwesterners on this site. Very surprising, considering the most populated states are in the south and northeast.

Are you sure you'd be happier here? With the way the economy is and the prejudices people have against us poor people....unless you're part of the upper crust. Other than that, if it were me I'd go to San Francisco. The weather's warm all year around with a nice breeze I hear. If I was to move to a more economically stable country, it'd be Sweden.

Why does this thread make me think of West Side Story?

From what I've heard (and I seriously hope this is no longer the case), that depends on who you are.
