This thread is made of win! Great job everybody!

This one is my favorite, because I have had several incidents where I posted an opinion of someone or something, and then another poster showed up and started ripping into me because they had a similarity to whatever I was giving an opinion about and they got offended.

Oh, and this reminds me of another point:

- Just because someone says or does something you don't agree with doesn't mean they are an NT.

Ooo ... good one! I'll add it to the list, and I can see adding a few corollaries to it, as well!

Sticky this!

Another one - yes, a lot of people would like to create an Autist community; so many, in fact, that there's probably already a thread or 10 on this very subject. Please make sure you have something new and useful to contribute before starting a new thread.

That smell you find coming your computer is mild hypocrisy...

I have a good one:

Just because someone has a unpopular opinion or different point of view or has a disturbing opinion or is ignorant about something or doesn't even go back to their thread and post a reply or doesn't keep posting their replies to the thread does not mean they are a troll.

Um...my second toe is longer than my big toe. Does this mean I have autism? I don't think you covered that. :P

How about this?

If you ask an honest question about yourself, you will get an honest answer.

Don't start threads asking an honest question if you're not ready for an honest answer.

Some members might post about their special interests a lot. That annoys other people. Just because a few people who don't have special interests are annoyed by the members whos special interests are of a strong intensity doesn't mean that they have to have a three page thread about it. It makes me and the others who don't have a filter in that area feel unwelcome here on WP.

As different as we all are from each other, we are all here for the same reason.

Not every post is about you, so don't make them out to be and if somebody who posts in your thread disagrees with you, don't make them agree with you by converting them or else they won't want to post in yur usual hang out sub forum.

If you are having a really hard time coming to terms wh ith your child's autism, make your thread in the Parenting Forum instead of General Autism. You'll get less attacks there and the sad faced misfits won't be after you. (I just had to joke about my nature and Mick Avory face).

Hehe, I'm glad you guys are having fun with this!

Who says WP doesn't have its own culture?

Well, one thing they can add to their post is that they are sensitive souls and would like the responses to be phrased in a gentle way. I am sure people would oblige if they knew that was desired.

Hmm... did I say that?

Well, that's another one to be added to the list. The autistic culture debate.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
