How about Sagres? That's a nice Portuguese beer - 5.1%. A friend of mine brought it back from his trip. Bloody good.

I checked it at beerpal.com It did'nt get good ratings, but then only a few people reviewed it. I've never seen it here in the States.

I'm very suspicious against French, Spain, Portuguese or Mexican beer. I think about those countries as "wine countries" and therefore unable to make really good beer (yes, I know it's a prejudice).

There's a few good French "Biere de Guarde" Ales that are similar to a Belgian Saison. Both go under the nickname of "Farmhouse Ale"
