it sounds by your definition everybody important is an aspie.
Well if that's your reading of the fact that a lot of people in important positions seem to have the personality traits of lacking empathy and a lack of concern for social norms then so be it. All I'm doing is stating an observation.
everybody does to some degree. normal people disobey social norms, don't you notice. we just disobey them in ways people find particurally annoying.
But here's the thing - people only really make a deal of it if it's outside of the norm. NTs can break the social norms in a socially acceptable manner without getting much stick for it (for example, doing stupid things while they're drunk). On the other hand, people who are perceived as rude in day-to-day life are disliked by NTs. This "rudeness", however, is merely a lack of f**ks to give about the arbitrary social rules society puts on us.
Bringing it back to Steve Jobs, here's a relevant peace from Apple:
Quote:
"Here's to the Crazy Ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore
them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them
as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world - are the ones who DO!"
Indeed, that describes Steve and many other successful people well, because they don't care about being liked or conforming to stupid rules. They care only about getting things done as they want.
