I like alcohol but do try to keep it in moderation most of the time. Sometimes though, I do drink just to get drunk. I enjoy it.

I'm much better sticking to beer or wine, because hard liqour makes me crazy. Really crazy and I lose my judgement entirely. I've heard that it's the Cherokee in me that causes that. My grandfather was the same way and he was half Cherokee. My grandmother always told me Indians can't drink hard liqour usually because it can effect them more.

The other thing is, I have a pretty high tolerance for alcohol. I can sit down and drink a 12 pack by myself, one and a half of those big bottles of wine, or close to a fifth of liqour. Thats not good if you combine it with the fact that hard liqour makes me crazy.

The one booze you do not ever want me to have is tequila. When I drink that I'm bulletproof and can fly. I also know everything and get angry really easily. I haven't had tequila in years and years. At least I have sense enough to avoid that.

As for the OP, if you don't want to drink then don't drink. There's nothing wrong with that and usually by the time people get out of high school they have stopped seeing people who don't drink as "lightweights".

As for Ritalin and booze, I've never heard that it does anything with it except dampen the speedy effects and help you sleep if it gets you wired.

Alcohol can be fun. Having said that, it can also be an ugly, ugly thing. It's up to you. You need to ask yourself how curious you are to try it. Don't do it because others tell you that you should.

If you want to try it, do it in a safe environment and just relax and have fun. If you don't like it, heck that's great! just think of all the positives that come with not drinking: You'll be healthier
You won't be spending money on expensive alcohol
You'll be more productive (it's hard to do anything when you're drunk)

P.S. Drink water if you decide to try drinking. Alcohol is a diuretic so it's important to keep hydrated.

Most people dislike the taste of beer when they first try it. I know I did. It's an aquired taste.

I'm uncomfortable about under age drinking, but if someone is 21, then I'm not.

I don't intend to drink ever. One person that I know of on one side of the family was an alcoholic, and I suspect that my other parent has alcoholic tendencies. Plus with my early horror-story-type experiences with ADHD medications, I really, really don't want anything messing around in my brain.

It's not so much that I fear it, I have a strong distaste for it.

I honestly don't care if people around me choose to drink or not, but I personally see no need for it. I'm able to have fun and live my life normally without it, although I know of a few people that can't have fun without it, and I'm not sure why.

I drank from about 28 to 34, but never really liked it. I was just trying to fit in with others but it never really worked and I never really fit in. So, I decided to stop. It wasn't enjoyable to me and all it did was make me nauseous and waste my money. What sucks now is that all my friends have moved out of state and so now it's very hard to find others to be around who will do so without me drinking (drinking, drugs and strip clubs are about all there is where I live, and I want nothing to do with any of them.)
