Money can't buy happiness, but it can make your misery a lot more fun. :money:

It would be useful..but I cannot say my attitude would be 'bring on the cigars and caviar'...I mean the great things I could do. I could secure housing for me, my boyfriend, my brother and my dad, and maybe even some of our friends, I could invest in renewable energy and there are lots of cool things one could do with money.

Even if I became 'rich' I wouldn't want to be like a rich stereotype...I wouldn't want to host wealthy people dinner parties or anything...I think I'd still want to live fairly simple life but just never have to worry about funds to go to a concert or on a cool trip somewhere.

I would give a qualified yes to this answer. I'd want enough money to pay off my student loans (which are quite substantial), my credit cards, and my medical bills. The rest I would be giving to charities of my choosing.

Yes.

I thought I was financially secure until I found out my mum's partner is leaving his house to his daughter. I don't know how I'm going to cope. I've been doing lots of calculations to figure out my future, how much it will really cost, it's scary as Hell.

It is not fair.

I thought maybe I could even have children one day. I will never be able to afford to raise kids. I'm great at budgeting. I'd make a great mum. I can't afford it to raise kids now, not with this money. I had budgeted and made many calculations. That hope flew out the window when I found out the above. It's impossible and lost...now.

Everything in my life for my future, was mostly secure. Now it's all gone. My hopes and dreams are gone.

I wish I was rich. I'd be able to live way out in the country, where I don't have to deal with lousy apartment neighbours.

Thank you.

I'm really glad your folks helped you out. I suppose, you couldn't imagine a life without that kind of support, right?

Yes. It would be great never having to worry about money and the freedom to basically do or buy anything. I wouldn't buy unnecessary and vain things though, but would probably spend them on travelling, home stuff, etc.

My parents didn't have a lot of money when I was little & they spent a lot sending me to private school but they did have enough for me to have some personal things. They were lower working class & are now working lower middle class thou my mom is retired now. I never really wanted to be rich but I did want to be financially independent after I graduated high-school partly cuz my parents were on my back about it alot. I have worked some but I'm on Social Security Disability now. Me & my girlfriend live a fairly comfortable lifestyle but we're worried about losing our government benefits like my Social Security, my Medicare, our Medicaid, her SSI, her Section 8 housing voucher, her food-stamps, & her low income energy assistance. It would be nice if we had enough money not to worry about these things. We would move back in with my parents if it came to that but we really do NOT want to have to do that. I would get a job but my girlfriend has anxiety & depression issues & doesn't want me to be gone for more than a few hours at a time. She thinks there's a way where I could get paid to be her caretaker cuz I'm classified as her live-in-aid on her Section 8 but she hasn't really looked into it cuz of her depression. She put her cat to sleep a few months ago & has been having a really hard time coping.

Of course I don't. I want life to be as hard and as difficult as possible.

So I can help others live kinder lives and have a physical platform to affect what is around me in a larger and more tangible way I dunno, I considered myself rich enough to feel comfortable when I could work minimum wage but I suppose if I ever earn more than that it would be a nice thing to have as a big net I could dip into.
