I googled my name many years ago. Not much came up on me, but, someone by my name was a very popular movie star... um, at least in one very specific genre... which I won't talk about here.

Luckily, I got married. Most people by my current name are like real estate agents and stuff. But, once I started a blog for work, I joined a lot of social networks to point to it and now there's a ton of my work out there. My coworkers joke that I have a bigger internet footprint than most bands.

Haha. I've discovered that it's way easier to deal with conferences and meetings and stuff if people already like me from online, they're more likely to overlook my in-person quirks and they will also approach me, so I don't have to approach them.

Nothing for me except for when I specifically searched my name plus the names forums I belong to and even that was vague. (Shea isn't my last name btw, it's my middle/2nd/nickname). I get called Ezra 50% of the time and Shea 45% of the time. 5% of the time I get called little ****. My last name is rare so I don't post it. It ends with the letter x.

I take that back. something on another forum prompted me to google my name again, and i found a website i'd registered on and then completely forgot about. The problem is it had my profile with birth date publicly displayed. No huge deal, but makes me want to be more careful about keeping track of online accounts. Fortunately this one had a very handy delete account option. Looked kind of more like some kind of hookup type site then just discussion forum. I had 83 visitors .
