No! This is wrong! WAS is past-tensed. The next sentence should read "You never Knew what YOU WERE going to get."

I know he said IS. Nope. I'm not nuts.

I FOUND IT!!

What she said was in the past. She was being retrospective.

But the next phrase is true, too, because you are living life. You haven't died yet.

Since life, up to that point, WAS like a box of chocolates, it implies that, throughout life, you "never know what you're gonna get."

She was conveying a memory. But the memory applies to the present and the future, too.

I'm no expert, but I remember the BerenstEin Bears spelled without an A. I remember as a kid thinking, "this does look like it should be pronounced like "stine""

I heard a rumor on something discussing this whole effect, that someone said it had been spelled wrongly for years on the books, and it got a very late fix to BerenstAin.

The picture shows the correct quote, but the film is changed.

But a person could talk about the past, and apply it to the present/future.

A picture doesn't lie, Mr. K. The picture shows the truth.

I remember it being interview with THE vampire, and I remember sex AND the city, they are just awkward titles that your brain twists into something less awkward.

I watched Star wars a few times on vhs about ten years ago and it was the 'new' Darth Vader quote.

I do remember new Zealand being North of Australia though ;)

I have never seen Snow White so I can't help you there sorry.

It really shouldn't matter, I don't think.

Was, Is.....either one conveys the point......

That life is really random; you never know what might happen!

Many people don't speak grammatically correct, anyway. Even intelligent people.

Snow White is MIRROR MIRROR.

New Zealand is mostly EAST of Australia. The southernmost point of New Zealand is further south than the southernmost point of Australia.

Australia extends much farther north than New Zealand.

My memories are not always 100% accurate. Nobody's memories are 100% accurate.

People just have to live with what they got. They have to react to present events more than to past events.

New Zealand was NEVER north of Australia!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !

What New Zealand is:is farther from the equator, and closer to the nearest pole than is most of Australia. So it has a less tropical climate than does most of Australia. So a northern hemisphere person will translate that into northern hemisphere terms and will think of New Zealand as having a more "northerly" climate than Australia. Hence the confusion. Maybe.

In the southern hemisphere north is hotter and going south makes it more like Antarctica.

New Zealand is much smaller in area than Australia (obviously).

It extends to a slightly more southerly latitude than Tasmania (Australia). It extends to about 40-45 Degrees South Latitude.

Australia extends much more north than New Zealand, though. Darwin, Australia, is less than 10 Degrees South Latitude, I believe.

Auckland has similar winters to southern Australian winters, except with less extreme temperatures. The summers are similar to southern Australian cities on most days, though Auckland doesn't get the Outback heat, obviously. It hardly ever goes over 30 Celsius, no less over 40 Celsius. Southern Australian cities can easily get up to 45.

Christchurch has colder winters than most Australian cities, and much cooler summers as well. I would say Christchurch and Canberra have similar winters.
