My goodness!

I just realized how random my replies to this thread were, and I did vote in your poll!

Oh, that's terrible, especially since he was piloting to help others! The new Press Your Luck was nothing without him as a host. They did that when he was still alive. Maybe he wasn't interested in hosting it again.

Thanks for the link!

Did you not know that?

Todd Newton may replace Bob Barker on The Price is Right when he retires, you know. I think he'd be a fine replacement. What do you think about that?

Perhaps your right. I was just talking to a guy the other day about not being like other women and joked of missing most of the "woman" genes, and he gave me a confused look as though he didn't know what I was talking about..

Then again, we're not known for reading people well, so who knows.. maybe I was mistaking his confusion for what could have been any number of things.. LOL

I guess I'd forgotten that he had passed away, but I'm sure I didn't have all the information about the circumstances. At least, his family has the comfort of knowing that he was doing something noble when he died.

Ohhh, Todd Newton is one of my least favorite game show hosts. He almost seems like a caricature of what a host would be. He's too schmoozy for my taste.

The other choices to replace Bob Barker on "The Price is Right" are Mark "Mr. Entertainment Tonight" Steines, and George "Mr. Sunburn" Hamilton.

Who would you choose?

Whoa! Not the greatest choices! Did they consider Mark Walberg? I like him okay.

Oh, and Chuck Woolery. I haven't been crazy about the things they've given him to host recently, but who didn't love Love Connection?

Not Mark Walberg, but of Mark Steines and George Hamilton, who would you choose?

By the way, I almost met Chuck Woolery in person.

Since we're talking about game shows. What was your all-time favorite? Mine was Child's Play. I have seen a few minutes of it on GSN recently, but can never seem to find the regularly scheduled time.

No contest! I would definitely choose Mark Steines over George Hamilton. I'm amazed that he still gets work.

I've seen bits and pieces of Child's Play.

Bill Cullen was wonderful!

How cool that you almost met Chuck Woolery. What happened that you didn't end up meeting him?

I would choose Mark Steines too!

Chuck Woolery was in New York at the same time I was living there, and he was supposed to host a live game show there, but he spent so much time preparing for the event that it was canceled due to lack of interest.

I agree with you that Bill Cullen was wonderful!
