I've been obsessed with my job for a while, but I feel I am losing it. I have been purposely avoiding other obsessions for fear they will interfere with my work.

I'm also a bit obsessed with WP since finding this site, even though I don't post much.

My big obsession is Starlight Express. :) I've seen the show three times so far, and I'm hoping to travel to Germany to see it there for my birthday. I have a big collection of leaflets, posters and newspaper clippings about the show, and I'm constantly looking for pictures of my fave characters online (esp. Purse and Electra, their costume designs are amazing!). I'm also hoping to get some skates that were used in the show from Ebay soon, which would be a dream come true! :D

Yes, he was diagnosed by Tony Attwood! You can't really argue with that can you?

It's a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber about anthropomorphic trains racing for a championship (set inside a child's dream), and it's performed entirely on rollerskates. :D It closed in London in 2002, but it's still playing in a huge purpose-built venue in Germany (complete with race tracks going through the audience), and it's currently touring the UK.

There's a clip here from the tour (it isn't the best song in the show, but it's fun :D . Oh, and Electra's the one with the huge headdress.):

Black Books, definitely. Monty Python, Red Dwarf, The Young Ones, Blackadder, Bottom, and The League of Gentlemen....

I also have found that I am acquiring a small taste for Not the 9 O'Clock News....

One of first shows I saw. Barnum was the total first West End show...Starlight was second, I think. Loved it and still love it. I saw the original with Stephanie Lawrence as Pearl.

Oh wow, that must have been amazing to see! 8O What was Stephanie Lawrence like in that role? (I haven't heard the OLC album yet, but as the original she must have been incredible to see on stage!)

She was wonderful as Pearl. Waved at me from the stage... I was about 9 at the time. Never forgot it and ws quite upset when she committed suicide. She latterly played the lead in Blood Brothers, but I was unwell, so didn't get to see her in that. The original Starlight was much better than the new one, in my opinion. Better musically, though I do like a few of the newer songs. ACDC was better. Worth getting the original album to compare.
