I used to come across as "arrogant and aloof"... and overwhelmingly negative in my attitude. I mellowed out as I got older. Now, in the workplace, I'm well thought of, mostly because I am friendly, pleasant, and polite. (Even if I have to fake it.) It make up for being "quiet". People see me as laid-back and relaxed and unthreatening, and my manners are impeccable.
