I think you went to 320 by recently binge eating burgers fries noodles ribs cheesecake etc.
Being in the hospital for 3 days, isn't going to remove any weight because it takes at least one week (7 days) for the average person to lose just 1 lb on a strict diet.
In other words you can accumulate 5 lbs from 1 of day of indulging on high fat high sodium high calorie food. But it can take at least 5 weeks of strict dieting to lose that 5 lbs.
Whoa, now, EzraS. ASS-P's recent rapid weight gain has nothing to do with caloric intake nor physical activity levels.
Sure, bad habits are how he got himself to whatever his regular baseline weight was several weeks ago - 260lbs, 280lbs - whatever, but his very recent vary rapid ascent to 320lbs has a medical explanation. It's water/fluid retention weight due to his congestive heart failure & other ailments. ASS-P is literally swelling up like a water balloon being filled. Weight loss, from this condition, can be much more rapid than the typical 1-2lbs/week of fat loss via reasonable diet & exercise as certain medications can enable his body to expel the excess fluids. It won't happen instantaneously, but there is the potential with the right medications & timeline to reduce the excess fluid buildup dramatically, and thus the excess weight.
I don't know if that's medically possible for ASS-P at this point, as if it were you'd think they'd have kept him admitted. Maybe they tried and it hasn't worked? It might be that only time can slowly reduce excess fluids. I'm not an expert on the matter. Regardless, with what little I do know about it.. ASS-P's health is.. not good, & his long term prognosis.. also, not good. I do hope that his body works with him and the excess fluid retention levels drop off so that at the very least he's physically more comfortable. Heck, let's go all the way with this one: I hope ALL his ailments improve and he gets to live the rest of his life feeling much better than he does at present!
ASS-P: My only advice to you is to follow medical advice to-a-T. If doctors say "do this, you have to in order to improve your current health situation," then please Do It. If they say rest, Do that. If they say walk/exercise, do that. If they say eat this & don't eat that, Do it. If they say take these meds, Do it. I'M not telling you what to do, I'm merely suggesting that your doctors have dealt with these situations with many patients before and their medical advice is your very best bet.
