Toys R Us has begun sales to liquidate their stores as of today. If you have a TRU gift card, you have until April 19 to use it.

Climate change, solar storms, magnetic pole reversal... all the fun things that will make people focus on survival vs. consumerism.

You very well may be, but chances are I'll witness some of it as an old man. s**t's about to get very real, very fast.

Elon Musk figures we have less than 100 years to launch fleets of ships off the planet to colonize other planets. I've heard that others figure we only have a couple of good decades left before things start to get dicey in terms of temperature & fresh water etc.

I wonder, when the $#!+ hits the fan, if there will be relative oases on earth somewhere. I know tierra del fuego is said to be desirable in terms of its insular or circular weather patterns that reject outside air currents, which in a time of NBC warfare would be an advantage, and many wealthy have emergency compounds bought decades ago, in this place.

It's hard to believe that Toys R Us is closing. When I was a kid I spent the majority of my allowances there.

Or more global efforts to keep this planet in livable condition might be beneficial. Colonizing other planets might be cool...but its not a solution to human caused problems on this planet. We need to quit being so selfish and preserve this planet to. Us humans aren't the only life inhabiting this planet...we have no right to just trash this planet and then move on to the next one.

This is true & the bigger effort people make the longer we'll all get to survive here.

Guess what was spotted in BC waters last year? A swordfish. First time ever. And a loggerhead turtle, 2nd time on record iirc. The oceans are warming.. things are changing fast. We can slow the progress if we all stopped burning fossil fuels etc.. but it really does look like we've gone passed the tipping point.

It's okay. I have a lot of fun being an Amazon kid. That doesn't sound right.

Wondering why the mods let you post such an offensive sig photo.

I was also wrong about March 22. This was some online misinformation. TRU has not announced the start of their liquidation to my knowledge.

My guess is that it's a reference to Schultz, a favorite character of his on Hogan's Heroes.

I meant Conkys Third Reich Eagle and Swasticka.

I only went there a couple times as a kid cuz there wasn't one close by. I don't remember it much except for playing a kewl game for some video-game system at the place that I really wanted & my parents wouldn't get me. I think it was a Sega Saturn system & I never had one of those.

OK they have started their sales, but its hardly blow out. It is UP TO 30% off. The 30% off items were gift wrap and cheepo party supplies. Video games are not on sale at all, and most of the other expensive good stuff is 5-10%.
