I have to agree. Many people in California are religious including Roman Catholic, and morality is no different than in other states. There's a misconception about California being immoral or self-centred because of the movie industry, but in my experience it isn't. I can't speak to New York, though.
I'm just angry about a proposed law in that state destroying the Sacrament of Confession by forcing churches to remove the veils...
Hysterical nonsense. SB 360, which passed the state Senate in May, would require priests to report suspicions of child abuse obtained through confession in some circumstances. A priest would be bound to report suspicions of abuse only if the confessor is a fellow priest or an employee of the same institution -- almost all lay people would remain unaffected.

This is disgusting and a gross...
More disgusting and gross than RCC priests sodomizing multiple children and -- instead of being defrocked and arrested -- being transferred to another parish where they can do it all over again?

As if the RCC itself was above spreading lies and propaganda solely to enrich its coffers.

Ooo ... I'll alert the media regarding this drastic attack on California's economy!!

As far as US states go, California and New York seem to be the most immoral, as well as the least free. Count me out.
Really? I live in California, and I haven't witnessed (or participated in) any form of "immorality" that I haven't witnessed (or participated in) elsewhere, including Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Far East, and the Middle East. The places you mentioned are no worse than any other place, they just get used as the settings for more movies and sitcoms deserving an R rating.

I lived in California for over a decade and also visited Amsterdam.. let's just say that Amsterdam is more immoral than any California city by a mile.

Ebola, malaria, sleeping sickness, yellow fever, and MERS-Cov don't sound like a fun time, either.

Not to mention jiggers.

I could live in either Detroit or Cuba. I agree with the others.

Why Chicago or Prague? Many people have intentionally relocated to both places. Bad memories maybe?

The UK is not looking too great since we have implimented so many discriminatory anti discrimination laws which over ride democratic rule.

Probably, but potentially the UK is not looking good as we no longer have democracy. We have a democratically elected form of group dictatorship. The goalposts have changed.
