Thing is there are great drummers and good band drummers. A great drummer is not necessarily going to play well with a particular band. I posted drummers that I like. I put Art Blakey, but I'm not really into Bebop as such. Rick Buckler is not the greatest drummer but he was great for the Jam.

I've often thought that drummers are the most talented members of many bands. I'd like to suggest Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones and Alex Van Halen.

Sorry ringo star made me laugh a bit. I don't even think he would claim he was a good drummer. But like I said you only need the drummer fit the band.
