great topic. i only have to look at my oh-so-normal family to see whats wrong with the world. do you know how we spend our holidays? we go shopping! every single day! we go to los angeles, new york city, tokyo, hong kong, singapore...all we do in those cities is shopping!
we would wake up at 9 AM, have breakfast, go shopping, have lunch, go shopping, have dinner, go shopping, go back to the hotel at 10 pm. we do this every single day until the end of holiday. it makes me sick. and they keep visiting the same stores in each city. versace, gucci, prada, that kind of shops. their reasons? well, i don't know. they keep saying that the reason why we live is to make money so we can buy these stuff. uh...whatever dude.
here's some questions:
why do people spend more than $2000 on a dress that they wear only once or twice?
why do people spend more than $5000 on a watch where they can get another watch that is just as accurate for a bout $100? So what if pierce brosnan or maria sharapova wear that same watch? they only wear it because they get paid to wear it!
why work so hard to earn money if you're just going to spend it on stuff like that? my parents say i need to manage my finance better. i dont think spending $100,000 on luxurious goods during christmas holiday good financial management.
i dont like wearing a watch because i find it uncomfortable but my mom keeps forcing me to wear one. her reasoning? her first reason was if i ever got lost in a forest, how would i know what time it is? yea, very funny. why would i go to a forest in a first place? i'm a homebody and a cityboy. i dont spend my time in nature. then i pointed out that my cellphone has a clock in it. then she changed her reason to "if i don't wear a watch, people will think i don't have money to buy a watch." well, so what if they do? i dont care how much money people think i have. i dont see any reason why we need to show people how much money we have.
last christmas holiday we went to hong kong and macau. everyone's conclusion is......hong kong rocks, macau sucks. why? because hong kong has a lot of shops and malls that they can go to and all we did in macau was sit around in a cafe relaxing. HELLO!! ! it was a holiday!! ! we're supposed to relax! we spent 7 days in hong kong, we went to disneyland 1 day and we went shopping 6 days.
i work 5 days a week. i go to the gym on saturday and i prefer to rest at home on sunday but my parents dont agree with it. they say i should go out on sunday. well, everytime i go out on sunday, i get too tired for work the next day. they think relaxing at home is a waste of time.
