Weve always had presidential scandals, but the Nineties we had the first that was not 'family friendly'. If I had had children and would not have wanted to explain that whole stain on Monica's dress thing to them.

It can be said that the 1990s decade might be living proof of the adage, "You don't know what your have/had until it is gone."

Why are online listings describing the origins, and meanings of the term, "dance like it's 1999" sorely lacking?

Doesnt the expression come from the Prince Eighties hit song "1999"?

"Two thousand zero zero oops out of time, thats why I am gonna party like it's 1999".

It should be "party like it's 1999".

The software of this website even completed the sentence for me when I got to "like" - and prompted me to write 'its 1999"!

Even the computer knows the Prince song!

The 90s had a bumper crop of songs that were so bad that they were good.

I always took that to mean that if mankind survived that long (despite the ever-present nuclear threat) we could have a big party. The Y2K scare suggested a different take.
