Actually that IS rather depressing...that so many fall for it.

If I had a billion dollars could I give ...a billion people...a billion dollars each?

I wouldn't say that the mega rich are rich unjustly in a lot of cases. The vast majority of their wealth is speculative and tied up in stocks and not actual money.

It's easy to get the impression that their wealth is in cash and the companies they own are seperate but it's not the case at all and it's difficult to give wealth away when the loss of that money will also result in a loss of future company profits.

It's like having all your net worth tied up in a bus company and selling some of your busses to give the proceeds to the poor. Not only have busses been lost, but also future income those buses could have generated.
