Back when I was deejay for wedding receptions I would have to prepare by doing paperwork for the time table of wedding reception events in order to get on the mic and be the master of ceremonies.
You end up making up acronyms. Sometimes independently reinventing the same ones as folks in the industry use like "the mob" (mother of the bride), or, for the guy who gives the toast, its often the BM/BOG (best man who is also the brother of the groom).
Even songs.
There are countless zillions of love songs in the world.
But in the late Nineties era I was doing it about half of the couples would pick one or the other of just TWO songs for their first dance.
Those two being "E.I.D" ("Everything I Do...I Do it For You" by Bryan Adams), or "H.I.T.Y.L." (Have I told you lately that I love you). But at least with the later you did have to jot down which version...the original Van Morrison version, the Rod Stewart studio version, or...the live Rod Stewart MTV Unplugged version.
"HITYL Van Morrison", "HITYL Rod Stewart", and "HITYL Rod Stewart Unplugged", all competed with each other.
