If you're going to spend money, spend it more on experiences rather than objects.

You haven't failed until you stop trying.

Try to be realistic & practical with your goals & decisions. It's good to be hopeful but it's not good to put lots of time, energy, &/or expense into pursuing & trying things that very likely will not work out well, especially when you could be focused on more productive or enjoyable things. I'm not saying you should give up if you really desire something but try try to go about it more obtainable ways or ways that will not cause you to lose much.

Decisions for yourself ( if practical to think for yourself) take time to consider Cost vs benefit Analyses .[ Is the juice worth the squeeze] . 8O

I always remember my dad saying: Never buy a house at the bottom of a hill.

I don't know who he was saying it to. It certainly wasn't me

Maybe I dreamt it

I own a house near the bottom of a small hill. As a result I have a pool of water in my back yard whenever we get a lot of rain. Over the years I've learned how to efficiently use this water to grow flowering shrubs that need a lot water!
My friends need to water their roses bushes in the summer but the clay soil stores the water for me so I don't need to do that. I had to raise my rose beds to keep the surface roots out of the water. In turn, the flower beds soak up water, helping to keep my basement dry!

Moral of the story?

Sometimes solving a problem yields unexpected benefits. I can grow roses without needing to water them!

And if you can work that out you should apply to go on 3 2 1

Similarly, the old concrete sidewalk has sunk in spots. No surprise as it is likely to be 70 years old.
The obvious solution is to raise it back up somehow.
Instead, I lowered the ground next to problem spot with a shovel. Lift up sod and dig away the soil.
Then replace the sod so the ground is lower! Now the pedestrians have a mostly dry sidewalk all the time!

Either no one has ever given me any life advice or i never paid enough attention to what anyone told me to remember it. Either could be true.
