The name change was supposedly to circumvent drilling bans.

Down here, we just say "the Gulf".

Greg Abbott, idiot governor of Tex-Ass, is upset. He wanted to rename it Gulf Of Texas.

I usually heard it called The Gulf in Louisiana too. I feel bad for geography & civics classes these days :( Lots of students will prohably have their grades curved to pass with a D & get flack from their parents for their poor grades :tired:
