Four wheel drive owns your face.

And so does my Jeep.

Krista's 22 year old sister Larceny borrowed Krista's Jeep, and Larceny and I went mudding once. We got stuck, because Krista's Cherokee doesn't have decent mudding tires. :( STILL, it was a jolly old time.

Here's pic:

I've always been happy Krista has a sister; Larceny is pretty hardcore, a girl after my own heart.

Look at the front passenger side wheel hub - Madre Dios! Santa Maria!

Getting stuck in the mud was just part of God's plan.

Next time that happens, just wait for a pilgrimage to help you push.

I own about 40 Routemasters. They're not cars, but they're close enough.

s**t, I'm glad someone else noticed that; I was starting to think I'd eaten something mildly hallucinogenic for lunch.

You have a sharp eye. And you and others who noticed are not seeing things; that is the "signature" of the artist who photoshopped the Iraq thing in the window; he runs a political blog, among other things; and, in fact, it is the face of a nun.

(Incidentally, the political mumbo jumbo was not meant to be part of my post. When Krista mentioned having a Cherokee, I happened to recall having this picture (I collect pictures) of pretty a girl in a Sixty 9 shirt who might pass for Krista's sister, standing in front of a Jeep Cherokee in the mud (though it is Limited, not Sport); thus a silly story was born. I've previously asked Krista if she has any sisters (she does not), so it was a slightly inside joke for her. But WTF, I like the picture, and making up silly stories.)

I do a lot of wandering (rambling I call it), but I am never lost; I just like to explore. This Tolkien quote describing Aragorn is dear to my heart (I forgot the preceding "Not" in the callout pic, but it is on the sticker). And I can tell by the way you have your pickup tricked out that you love it as much as I love my Renegade. Though people may fool themselves into thinking otherwise, vehicles don't come any more sensible than ours.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

Good fortune,

First car: 1983 Pontiac Fiero (died at ~165,000 miles)

First car I actually bought: 1997 Pontiac Sunfire (Paid for with Papa John's delivery money!)

Current cars: 1997 Pontiac Sunfire (200,000+ miles and still going), 2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT (~71,000 miles), and 2006 Toyota Sienna LS (~16,000 miles)

Next car: Something that doesn't use fossil fuels

I am leasing a 2007 Ford Focus (30 month lease - roughly 2yrs to go!)

Turned 13,000 kilometers today (roughly 8,000mi) VERY good on fuel, it's decent transportation, respectable looks, and it gets me where I have to go.

Next car: Very quite possibly the new Smart Fortwo.

First Car - Shank's Pony

Current car - 2003 1.1i citroen saxo desire (nippy, economical and can carry surprisingly more stuff then you may expect) (4 people, 3 over 6ft and not exactly skinny people either, one empty motorway with no speed cameras, plus a lot of luggage and it still hit 103mph). Not speeding like that again, happy car can do it but in all honesty it scares me even thinking about doing that again.

Next Car - Porsche 944S turbo, buying to do it up, lighten, increase power a little and use to drive around for enjoyment (well it is one of the most perfectly balanced cars ever produced, is light enough with a decent engine that can be made to have a good level of comfort, all for an affordable price, eventually)

That explains a lot! I thought it might have been a trick of the eye or an odd reflection (overcast days do weird things to digital cams sometimes)

Re: the other pic - Icarus flew too close to the ditch on wings of rubber and got high-centred! Never had a 4x4 myself, but an old friend has a Suzuki Samurai with 44s we would take to the bush (along with a case of beer and guns...) and we had a few incidents like that...

I hope my next car is a 2010 (the year I graduate from college) Buick Enclave.

There is a long love affair with the pickup...actually just bought it a few weeks ago. The "toys" were all installed by myself a couple of years after it was purchased for the original owner (a good friend/former neighbor of mine), he rarely drove it...I kind of had a hand in talking him into the stuff at the time. The day he drove the truck home I fell in love with it...and wished I could only afford one like it at the time..the colors were even the ones I would have picked myself.

I was driving (and freezing my butt off) in a customized 73 VW Beetle at the time that I basically built from the ground up you could almost say.

Thirteen years later...and you wouldn't believe the mileage if I told you...it was like it was in storage, waiting.

I posted earlier what I currently drive, but my first car was a manual 1986 Honda Civic that I bought in 1994. I drove it until 2000, then sold it because I was moving to Arizona and the AC didn't work. I loved that little car whose name was Gilbert. :)

Those cars are awesome!! !

They're barely went fast enough to get on the freeway, but you could run 'em for a week on a thimblefull of gas, and I've never driven a car with better handling. Manual choke, too! Starting those in Canadian winter is interesting - you have to pull the choke out to the "sweet spot", pump the gas twice, turn the key till it catches, then flail at the gas pedal like you're stomping on a bug that's trying to sting you, making sure to keep the revs over 3000 to keep it from stalling. This goes on for about 10 minutes until it a)warms up or b)your neighbours kill you for making "zing!zing!zing!zing!" noises at 6am.

Come to think of it, I don't think any name OTHER than Gilbert would fit those cars!
