tomato concentrate/puree is actually very good for you. It has loads of antioxidants that protect your skin from UV damage.

Kosher dill pickles. My family thinks they're gross, but I crave them and can't get enough!

I like pickles and gerkins. Not too sweet though. I accidentally ate some even though I'm supposed to be on the GF/CF diet even though I have know way of know what was in that make.

What I don't like is the polish/russian ones that are in a murky salt brine. They are not silky but kind of grainy and astringent.

Freezing can be good if it is done immediately because it prolongs the half life of the vitamins such as vitamin C. So it is actually kind of healthier in some cases.

Do you like raspberries, loganberries, blackberries?

This may seem odd but I've never really liked strawberries. I guess i didn't trust the whole seeds on the outside when I was young. But in reality the taste is not that great anyway. it is amazing how colour fools taste. Like if you change the colour of things people get the taste confused.

Me too! I've always disliked strawberries, they have a bland taste and are always either over-ripe and mushy or else too hard and sour. And artificial strawberry flavour just makes me sick!

I love raspberries, I'm not familiar with loganberries, blackberries are OK but somewhat bland in flavour. Blueberries are good, but not as good as raspberries. What about cranberries?

That is why it is now forbidden by my family.

I've eaten some exotic stuff.

tamarind
aji peppers (amamrio, mirsol, panka)
scotch bonnet peppers
bird peppers
finger peppers
drumsticks (moringa pod) <- this is very high in vitamins. Is under investigation for treating malnutrition in developing countries .
bitter gourd

What's spaghetti bolognese?

Spaghetti alla Bolognese, Spaghetti Bolognese, or Spaghetti Bolognaise in a form popular outside of Italy, consists of a meat sauce served on a bed of spaghetti with a good sprinkling of grated Parmigiano cheese.

Oh pheew. For a moment I thought you meant noodles and balonga meat, between bread. Which made me gag a little. I used to crave dill pickles, fries with mustard, resberries, and whole tomatoes with salt, as a kid. I always hated sweet pickles, but have been known by my family to eat a whole jar of dills. One thing that's very annoying is that my dad persistantly insists that I am feeling sick after I eat a jar of dill pickles, even though I'm not sick at all. Probably because my mother got sick eating the same thing when she carried me, before I was born. I still love wild rasberries and home grown tomatoes alot, but don't consider them strange foods. What I like to eat is sour cream mixed with mozzerella and parmesian cheese, cold.

I think that's the weirdest so far, if you don't count the vaseline. :o

I love tamarind also. In my town there is actually a restaurant called "Tamarind", but I've never gone because it looked to expensive and classy. I know you can obtain tamarind in paste form, but I've yet to find some.

Heheh. I think garlic is far better then vasciline. Course, I just feel that way because I just can't stand the smell, texture, and even the look of that... stuff. the vaseline, mind you. I love garlic to, but don't eat it whole. Too hot for me.

I agree with 100%. Funny how synthetic flavors bare no relation to the actual flavours but can be equally as gross.

Raspberries are my favourate. Loganberries are nice. They are similar to raspberries, they are actually a hybrid between raspberries and blackberries. The flavor is not as intense somewhat in between the two but without the woodiness of blackberries.

The flavour of blackberries can vary quite a lot. But you don't want it growing in you garden it is a pest. The thorns can be pretty lethal.

I like fresh cranberry juice really cold, it has to be unsweetened.

Do you like elderflower?

It can be nice made into a drink. I once accidentally drank some elderflower cordial neat thinking it was dilute. :eew: that is a strong flavour you don't want at the back of your throat.

I lived in Jamaica and Angola and was lucky enough to have a tamarind tree in both gardens. The fresh stuff from the pods really is as strong as the paste. A little goes a long way. You put it in curries or make a refreshing juice by adding water, lemon/lime juice, sugar, lots of ice.

You can get paste and solid block. Beware it often it contains the pips. You need to fork through it to make sure there aren't any when you add it to food.

In Jamaica there is a drink made out what they call sorrel, which is not the herb but Rossell
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roselle_%28plant%29

Again it is quite a strong flavour. I tend to like it watered down. They way they like it is quite a strong syrup. It is sort of almost like an elixir that way.

I like passion fruit juice and also Cajuína which is a drink made out of the cashew fruit in brazil.

I've been known to do it before. It's not something I make a habit of, though.

It's good for helping hairballs "pass through." Are you a cat?

Nope, I'm an African Gray Parrot.
I've also been known to eat paper straw wrappers on occasion... I wonder if that helps with anything? (Oh look, 60-odd posts and I'm already resigning myself to being remembered solely as 'that chick who eats vaseline'.)

One thing that I love eating is banana & Marmite toastie. :) No one else seems that willing to try, but it's honestly a lot nicer than it sounds! I also adore choco-banana toasties (basically just chopped up banana and chocolate spread in a toastie), but no one ever seems interested in them, either. :P (I really have no idea why people wouldn't want to try choco-banana toasties, as I think they're delicious, but everyone else I talk to just assumes that they'll be disgusting! :? )
