I have one... two is my limit...

My grandmother has 80... inside cats, they don't go out.... in a five bedroom house.... she knows all their names.... she works two jobs to support them... (she is a rescue for cats that no one else will take) one room is devoted to cats that have FIV, and she'll take in pregnant mothercats and keep them in her room (they seem to like her closet)... she has a couple amputees... and a vet that makes a housecall to do shots....

It is really fun to turn on the electric can opener in that house.... about 30 free roam cats come running....

She must have a big house! I can only imagine what sleeping is like, do they jump on her bed in the morning?

There is no such thing as a "limit" when it comes to cats (if you can afford it). The most I had at one time (one of our cats we'd recently adopted had gotten out pre-fix & pregnant) was 11 (6 kittens). We only have four right now (the kitten is mine) but we normally have five or six. They tend to adopt us.

When I get an apartment with my kitten I'll have to get her a companion because she's so social. I know I will have a hard time not bringing home the entire shelter.

That happened twice with me, though not with cats. Once for mowing the yard (it was spring and the pollen was at high levels that day.) The other time I do not know what caused it. Both times were scary, because what can you do?

As miserable as I was it didn't take me that long till around the age of 14 to no longer have allergy issues with cats. I've often wondered if one can build an immunity to certain allergens. :?

I have been told by an ENT specialist that kids with allergies sometimes "out grow" them through the teenage/early adulthood time frame. I believe this happened to me with my allergies towards certain grass pollen and molds. However, I also took shots for two years, so.... it maybe due to both. I am not sure -but I am still glad for the results.

About two years ago I was over a friends house that had 5 cats. Now, I love animals and I had to pet them and such, but even with full strength decongestant, antihistamine, and sinus pressure, I was in a world of hurt: my eyes kept tearing, my skin was burning, post-nasal drip, and my face started to puff up. Fortunately, I long shower took care of all that.

I currently have one cat..and she is so lonely that she is becoming slightly neurotic and won't kill mice...but we are not getting another cat any time soon.

My parents are cat hoarders, meaning that they have a hard time mantaining their cat population...and i could not tell you how many cats they have. Because they have so many cats, they attract cats from around the neighborhood which they are obliged to care for...and the cats pee on everything and the whole house smells like cats....that is too many cats....where you can only estimate how many there are....(i grew up in this environment)

I really enjoyed having 7...but 3 is plenty nice

I think the most cats I've ever had at once was 4. My limit would be 5.

Should I ever get my own place, I just want one cat. A cat with white fur to keep inside. :)

That lady is one of the cat hoarders I talked about. Oh, those poor cats! I bet the house smells like one big litterbox. She probably doesn't keep any in the house.

1 gray tabby, 1 Siamese, 1 grey cat with green eyes (breed unknown), and a black female kitten (with white feet), who unfortunately is unfixed. She's yowling right now.

2 is probably plenty...

I went to the shelter and ended up getting two cats, there was a pair that where from the same litter, they are only 5 months old and are very attached to eachother, I could not seperate them so I got both.

They are both girls, I will try to post a picture of them when I get off work.
