Hey! Did you hear about my mouse Strapples? He's asleep in my hand as I type (typing like this is awkward but he refuses to be put in his cage)

Yes, always back up your files on disc. I've even seen it suggested that you should store the discs in a safe deposit box so that if your home burns down (or whatever) your data is still safe.
