Unfortunately you're right, Theta. :(

I'd send her some rusks, some nice home made ginger cookies and some South African sparkling wine.

Those would all be lovely. Apart from the peanut butter, which is about as appealing as rotten fish in my book. :eew:

Do I even want to know what a 'Rusk' is?

Like a corn husk?

Like something strange from Russia?

Everything else Enviro pledged sounded good, and he lives very far away from the Swedish rotten salted fish, so I think I'd happily eat the Rusks, even not quite knowing what they are. 8)

Rusks: see below. They come in various flavours e g muesli, buttermilk, bran, raisin, cranberry and you can dip them in your tea or coffee. Sylkat would love them.

Nothing to do with Insects or Russians! :D

So 'Rusk' is bread.

Right.

Nah, you wouldn't dunk bread in your tea would you?

It's hard, "twice-baked" version of bread maybe, but nothing like toast.

Here's me thinking you were talking about baby rusks or dog rusks.

Ouma (granny) rusks are considered a great treat in South Africa. People usually dunk them in tea or coffee with breakfast.

Since you like tea, Sylkat, the experience would be even better with some buttermilk or cranberry rusks to dip in and savour.

Ah! So Rusks are something very close to Biscotti. :D I would definitely eat those. 8)

(I couldn't think of the name 'Biscotti' for the longest time and had to google "hard bread things that you dip in your coffee". I almost texted my mom to find out, because she always serves those during the holidays. The only word I could think of was "focaccia". I found what I was looking for, but now that I think about it, 'cookie' would have been better in my search in place of 'bread'.)

I don't know how we got on to bugs on their backs, but I would eat those Krabo, if it's a dare. I don't have to like it though.

Various countries have different kinds of rusks. In the UK they are sometimes used to help toddlers with their teething. In Germany a plain toast-like rusk called zwieback is popular.

Better than bugs. I know from experience that most bugs are pretty indigestible. How do I know this? Sometimes when running with my mouth slightly open, some flying thing has entered and proven hard to chew. I think chameleons, lizards and the like have a tongue and mouth much more suited to dealing with bugs in their system. :D
