I was thinking what with your neighbour being bereft of tea and sugar.

Maybe just take one or two tea bags? Or, even better, just ask.

Are you talking about Lesbian Tea

As for etiquette , I may not be the best person to ask but I don't think it's wrong , but it probably is considered impolite , however if you have a regular visitor and you don't get their preferred drink of choice in then that's also considered poor etiquette.

My mum takes her own teabags to other people's houses. She can only drink de-caff tea because she was once on chemotherapy which has weakened her tolerance in caffeine, and not many people have de-caff teabags, so that is why she brings her own.

It will be thought odd, but do it anyway. Pretend your teabags don't contain some weird ingredient that you are allergic to that is in most teabags, hence bringing your own special teabags if you don't wish to risk causing offence :D
