last 2 posters, where do you live? look at men walking around you- how many do you see with hair that is not high and tight [shaved on back and sides, <1" on top]? at least out in the sticks where i live, that is the uniform male style. more than one yahoo around here has barked to me "get a man's haircut, you fairy!" but 20-30 years ago, almost nobody outside of the military had such military-short hair.

Not where i live. The most common hair style is a bit longer then mine. Although i have seen a steadily increasing number of guys with dreadlocks :chin:

yes, a flatop. that guy looks like the male people around me. i am one of the only men here with long hair. i felt uncomfortably like an obvious outlier so i shortened it somewhat but still get looked at askance by lots of folk 'round here.

i suspect eugene is a lot like olympia, washington. wish i could afford to live there, where there is more hair on the less fair [gender].
