yes, a flatop. that guy looks like the male people around me. i am one of the only men here with long hair. i felt uncomfortably like an obvious outlier so i shortened it somewhat but still get looked at askance by lots of folk 'round here.

IOW, the terminally unhip are usually the last holdouts for an earlier mode of living, like somebody who started wearing bellbottoms only years after everybody else went back to straight-legged trousers. in my little town, the rednecks started wearing longish hair about 10 years after it had become fashionable everywhere else, and when men started trimming their hair shorter. conservative types are the last to go [if they ever do] with the more liberal crowd. so when hip and sophisticated men start letting their hair grow again, it will be at least a decade before men in flyover places catch up.
