^^Yes I am actually. I might not fall a sleep right away, as the sleep pattern has been all over the place the last days. But going to give it a go.

Good night!

This is my view every night! 8)

Anne is your best friend?

I guess you could say that.. We are friends, but the truth is she does get a small payment from the government to provide me some social life. She doesn't do it for the money.

It must always be there though, the knowledge that she is paid to be your companion.
She could still be your friend regardless of payment, it would bother me.

What are your thoughts?

You are right. The payment thing has both positive and a negative sides for me. The negative is as you say, she can never make me feel that I'm good enough for a real friendship. That's impossible. But our relationship is not fully balanced that way anyway. I'm the one who suggests what to do. She always comes to me and picks me up in her car. I would never have been comfortable with that arrangement if she didn't get paid.

We talk about feelings, and other very personal things, like in a real friendship. Sometimes I can see that I make her feel better when we have talked about something, and that again makes me feel good. That I have been able to give something to her.

That all sounds pretty damn cool to me.

I'd like to have that.
The service and the feeling.

Thanks! Yes, I can recomend it :)

Mikeman, my dude! Those are some awesome pictures! :D How did you take them?

I used my telescope with a solar filter. My telescope is the Orion Space Probe 130 EQ Reflector Telescope which looks like this:

I had to take off the small spotter scope on the side and I put a solar filter on it designed for viewing sun spots so I don't vaporize my retina, to take these photos I just held my phone camera up to the eyepiece.

I would really like to get a proper telescope camera soon, but they are kinda' expensive. I would also need an auto tracking mount if I wanted to take any long exposures which would be awesome.

I am escaping the miserable August weather here and flying to beautiful Queensland in Australia next week, to celebrate a milestone birthday coming up soon and bask in the sun there. Raleigh's state!

Lucky you! :) Hope you'll have some pleasant time there.

I suppose it's winter over there where you're now - we're happy that the long summer is almost at the end here.

It's been a cold, grey, wet Winter here this year. Theoretically Spring starts in September, and years ago it always did, though climate change has shifted our seasonal changes and Spring can be cold here now. So there is often an exodus to sunnier climes by kiwis at this time of year, usually Australia or the Pacific Islands. (We kiwis aren't flightless birds after all!) It's about 3 and half hours by plane to touchdown at Brisbane International Airport.

I see :) We also used to have some temperate seasons here, but now it's becoming the zone of extremes - extremely cold in the winter, extremely hot in the summer.

lol I can see you're not flightless birds

I've seen some wallabies and emus yesterday with my daughter in the zoo, and I remembered you guys over there :)
