I'm currently resting my batter. I'll probably start flipping in the next hour, then I'll be so stuffed i won't want any tea.

Found out that the stinging sensation in my right eye was due to my gas-permeable contact lens being faulty. Switched to my spare contact lens and all's good. I'd been worried that something may be wrong with my eye.

One day, a high school student, Trump, Biden and an lbgt were on a plane together. Halfway through the flight, the engine broke down, and the pilot said that there were only three parachute bags on the plane, which could only keep three people alive. Biden immediately stood up and said loudly: "I am the president of the United States, my brain is very important!" " Then he jumped with a bag on his back. Followed by lbgt, it also loudly said: "you do not let me jump is a violation of our rights!" " Then he jumped down with the second bag. After both of them jumped, Trump handed the last bag to the high school student and said, "You are the hope of the country, and I am old." The high school student said, "Mr. Trump, we can walk together. The president of the United States doesn't seem to be in the right mind. He's holding my schoolbag."

Well I don't know whether I'm elated or perplexed

Just went into my energy account (for gas and electric) with the intention of paying it and not only has it already been paid but my account is in credit for the same amount of money as the combined gas and electric bill should have cost.

That's 300 quids worth of energy in all.

It seems a strange coincidence that you're in credit for the same amount, and odd that it's been paid by itself. Are you sure? Sometimes these account statements are misleading, e.g. an inconspicuous minus sign making debit look like credit.

No it's for real. I downloaded the bill and it's all on it. It's apparently because of overpayments I've made and errors they have made and it's just all accumulated over time. It is weird that it's the exact same amount but there is a run down of the overpayments and errors.

I was going to look into a fixed term tariff as well but I'll leave it for a while

OK if you've downloaded the bill and it's all on it, your back is covered. 8)

An "I Told You So" moment.

Neighbor's vehicle breaks down.  I told him "Just get it fixed".  He tried to buy a similar vehicle without a down payment, and failed.  He tried to finance a better vehicle while unemployed, and failed.  He tried creative financing involving some not-quite-legal means, and failed.

He finally says to me, "Gotta get my vehicle fixed".

I said, "I told you so".

 This is the same neighbor who throws karaoke parties that last all night long.

1) Tonally got my tire repaired just before a big trip.

2) Listening (for a 2nd time) to 1 of 3 Oprah and Arthur Brooks (Professor who studies & teaches Happiness at Harvard Business School) about their book, How to Build a Life (which grew out of his regular column on the subject in The Atlantic).

Prof. Brooks keeps referencing a lot of small and big observations from neuroscience, psychology, social science, etc, and Oprah & he do a great job in this discussion/interview format of making it all very down to earth and understandable.

I allowed myself to have a good short 5 minute cry instead of gulping down a big, tall cup of instant coffee after dinner tonight. I didn't stifle my emotions with coffee like I usually do. Beautiful, tender German emotions out in the open instead of drowned by instant coffee.
