"Nothing else is a Pepsi."

I got so angry at that slogan, that I actually did throw a bottle of Coke at my TV 15 years ago.

How about these?

"It's not fast food. It's Wendy's!"

"Diets don't work. Weight Watchers does."

Wendy's is fast food. Weight Watchers is a diet. Ugh.

AA walked five miles today during the
Providence Bridge Walk. It took about two hours to do.

HOLLA!

Ever notice how the present is boring for those living in it? We romanticize the past and the future, but nobody in the 1940s or 1980s thought it was a really cool time, and nobody in 2050 will think it’s a really cool time. We don’t think there’s anything special about 2011, but in 50 years, people will be nostalgic for this boring time.

Thank you both! I have been doing well. Nothing bad has happened - just your average ups-and-downs of daily life. The reason I came back was because I lurked and found the "Members You Miss" thread and saw my name mentioned a bunch of times. I never realized how many people cared about me on this website! One thing's for certain, though - I'm going to be a member here until the day I die. :P

IdahoRose, I've never had many dealings with you but welcome back!
Aren't we all gonna be members until after we die, now that we've signed up and cannot delete accounts?

And I hate how everyone else ignored this. -.-
Yes, I've caught myself thinking about what my kids and their kids (if I have any, they'll probably born about 15 years for now, then theirs about 40-45, etc.) will think about this time. My paternal grandmother was young in the 1960s (10-19 from '60-'69), and I know many people would have liked to be such an age during that time. Not sure why. I haven't asked her, but she probably didn't think it was all that great then. It was just life. But things moved on, and that's when some people began longing for that time again... and the longing just gets bigger and bigger until it carries over to people who weren't even close to born yet... (I've seen people here as young as in their teens posting about how they want to live in the 60s.)

Now THIS cider, as sweet yet weak as it tastes, is the only cider so far that actually tastes like apples to me :o. I can literally taste the juice!

All the others tastes like wine. Too bad I can only get it in a 4 pack.
