Hedgehog didn't make it

RIP Spike.
I can't count how many animals I've buried...wildlife, pets and livestock.
It gets easier, but I'm still not yet blasé about it.

I'm pretty stoic about it generally, but the babies get to me a bit. The ones that never really got a chance, they just have a really short, and pretty miserable time. What's that about?

Human society will never recover from the Covid 19 pandemic.

It did eventually recover from the 1918 flu pandemic, didn't it? Of course, then there was The Great Depression and WWII. Never mind.

I saw a post about people in the UK eating pet food because they can't afford human food, even the canned stuff. Maybe it's just alarmist fear-mongering, but it sounds gross and horrible and pet food is not meant for human consumption and could make people really sick. If they can get it down and make it stay there, I mean.

I keep hearing Canada is turning into a third-world country. That might be exaggerated. A bit. But it's still scary.

I'm tired of feeling like my tongue is trying to kill me.
Every week it's a little harder to articulate or I lose the ability to say another letter.
I really can't afford to hit another agency trigger.

I've got really bad glossitis. It hurts to eat anything harder than soup right now, and my tongue looks hideous. I get this condition fairly often, especially when I eat food that has a lot of acid or is spicy. But it feels extra worse than usual today.

It could be because my medication makes my mouth dry, or I'm not getting enough vitamin B12, or the antibotics I have to take until after Sunday are destroying the good bacteria in my body while the bad bacteria is very likely
resistant. Go figure on that last one.

Ever since I went to the doctor the other week my health anxiety has gotten really bad. Also because I'm 50 I don't know what abnormal things in my body are "normal", are a "new normal" I'll be forced to get used to because of my age, or because of something life-threatening.

It's scary knowing that in only two more decades I'll be almost be old as my mom is now. But I know I won't be in as great health and shape as she is because I got most of my genes from my dad. Especially the bad ones. If even live to that age, anyway.

my knee is very badly hurting & my bad ankle is MORE WOSRE I'm limping, it is hard to walk, my leg that my knee is hurting, my leg wont straighten up when I walk. Im going to Urgent Care Friday with my sister to get x-rays I never thought I would get excited about seeing a doctor.

The speech pathologist comes this morning.
I can't even imagine them giving me any good news.
Maybe they can tell me how much longer I'll have the gift of speech.
