That's fine. I'm not one of those anti-ebook people who brags about how much better paper books are, even though I have no interest in ever owning an ebook reader. I'm just annoyed with the constant ads for Kindles from Amazon. Every time I visit the site, I feel like some as*hole is sitting next to me, nudging me in the side, saying, "Hey! Have you heard about our Kindles? Kindles! Would you like a Kindle? They're the best selling product on Amazon! They're only $114! Don't you want a Kindle? Hey! Kindle!"

I just read somewhere that Morgan Freeman narrates the new Conan the Barbarian movie. I thought the critic was joking, because it’s become that much of a cliche, but I looked it up and apparently it's true. Someone needs to burn Hollywood to the ground already.

Meh - way too much forum noise plus the other stuff we've talked about elsewhere, and I had to move away from it for a while.

Being away was quite productive, though: the 'grand colour negative scanning project' continues apace, although disk space might become a problem with 35mm scans being around 60 MByte each (they were nearer 95 MByte each but I lowered the quality a little).
I have somewhere around 100 rolls of 36 exposure film to process and scanning all images will create roughly 216 GBytes of data - for the raw scans alone, and that size will actually grow during the image processing/tweaking stage.
