Family vacations.
It can be stressful.
Everyone argues over what to do. My laptop refuses to work and makes me cry.
We meet at a firepit when it gets dark. A fire is built. Guitars are taken out.
20-some of the most wonderful, amazing people in the world, sitting around a campfire, having fun.
I could not possibly have asked for better people to be surrounded by.
My uncle plays his guitar and we all sing. Well known songs, but our own special flavor. Improvised jokes barked out between lines. Teasing each other about musical knowledge.
My twin cousins sing very quietly but have beautiful voices.
Fireworks begin in the distance. Loud booms and flashes in the sky. I would be overwhelmed and want to leave.
But we sing louder. We drown out the chaotic noise with our song.
A stranger comes to join us. She is welcomed. She is not the first to be amazed by this tradition.
It took me time to realize these people are not an ordinary family. They are the most extraordinary group of people I could hope to have grown up with.
My laptop made me cry in anger. I have totally forgotten. Now I can only cry from happiness.

I was sat in the car park at B&Q a minute ago and this Rude Gus came and landed on my car.

I found my old pair of purple, single-vision reading glasses which I've been looking for since November.
They were in the glasses case in my drawer where I keep old glasses.
Go figure.
