I love Norton!
I suppose maybe 3? Only because who doesn't love Penguin Classics? They have formidable editors and notes.

#2 for Feel?

Alas, #3 for me. I was thought of as “pretty good for an adult, returning student.”

1. This is my actual copy of Wuthering Heights on Emily Brontë's actual bed, in the nursery of the parsonage museum. Yes, I had special permission because of my love for Emily!

2. I have several (even more stunning) pictures of my book in Emily's bedroom, but don't think I should share them all online in order to respect the generosity of my friends at the museum.

3. I have about nine other editions of this book.

Hi feels!

You might have more than nine.

Korts,
Good guess but nope. 3 is my lie. I'm not home to count but I likely have 6 or 7 editions of WH in total, plus about 65 other Brontë editions and bios in my antique Brontë cabinet.

2 is true. I have about 20 photos of my book in her room and on the moors. Most are far more beautiful pictures. I posted the most simple one.

1 is true. Special permission was given on my birthday when Emily was turning 200.

1. I just enjoyed a sumptuous Thanksgiving meal with my Canadian relatives.

2. We had pumpkin pie for dessert.

3. I wish I could walk to the Westmount Summit on Mount Royal, but I'm too tired.

#1 is true -- we did have a Thanksgiving dinner last night because I'm leaving MTL today

#3 is true -- I went to the summit by moonlight last weekend, but was too tired last night

#2 is my lie -- my aunt made an apple pie rather than pumpkin

20th Century British poems that I admire for their sensuous quality:

1. Chamber Music XXV (James Joyce)

2. By Candlelight (Sylvia Plath)

3. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock (T.S. Eliot)

I find Prufrock to be more satirical than sensuous. #3.

There’s a jagged quality to it which I find antithetical to sensuality. This doesn’t diminish the quality of the work.

Modernism is mostly jagged and dissonant...because of its rebellious origins.

Agreed, my well-read friend!

I love Prufrock and its opening imagery but don't consider it to be as evocative as other poetry of the time.
I find The Waste Land much more sensuous, but I'm afraid of it because of the references to April, mud and monsters.

Ha!

I’ve always found the Waste Land to be purposefully obdurate...which is my prime criticism of Modernism.

e. e Cummings is a smooth Modernist. I used to try to model myself after him.

1. I was once upbraided for cursing at a poetry reading.

2. The guy who upbraided me threw hot coffee on me, and was fired as a result (we worked together).

3. The guy knew the Big Band singer Dick Haymes.
