Technically, I'm already off of school until June 22nd, but if I finish my final paper by June 5th, then I'm still in school.

that is NOT boring and pointless. I wish you could put some distance between yourself and your family.

I wish I could, but my family are a pair of control freaks who think that just because I don't have a job, they have the right to give me ideas on what I should have for a job.

I'm not joining any branch of the military, although the Coast Guard should be fitting for me.

the coast guard, from what I've seen, is like a kinder gentler navy. joining it will give you 1]a journey away from the restrictions of your parents, 2]toughen you up, and 3]get a leg up on college and middle-class life afterwards. it is like indentured servitude in return for paid college [GI bill] and job experience. plus, if you don't swim now, you will afterwards. I wish I coulda joined. but the army was the only one who would take me.

I am the only male in my immediate family. My uncle is not only a d-bag, but he's also an alcoholic and a womanizer.

Summer-like weather won't return to Portland until Thursday at the earliest.

up here's the same, but I dread it when it comes as the weather report predicts 90F on Friday. I will have to hook up the a/c units again, too damned early in the year to suit me. :|
