I'm wondering how my autistic friend will react to being called "clueless", on the site she was about to join.

Namely this one.

What???? Did people here call your friend "clueless"? Why? She's better off not being here if people are gonna act like that. Maybe AF would be a better forum?

She's a PhD and esteemed professor of Disability Studies including Autism.
Apparently she got an easy grade on topics that don't matter.

A lot of people on here don't care about sincerely discussing autism or other disabilities, and only really come here to stroke their egos. Of course someone here thinks that they know better than her and had to make it known.

Barb's bigoted son is over at her apartment. He hates people with disabilities, he hates people who are different and he hates Germans. I just made the cardinal mistake of phoning her back when her son is over. Barb and I live in the same building. I will definitely be sticking around my place tonight. I dread tomorrow morning. I don't know what she's going to tell me.

My cousin said that she's starting to like science, and mentioned being interested in doing something that involves observing stars. I suggested that she could become an astronomer or something, and she seemed intrigued. I think she avoids "sciency" things and the idea of having a job like that though because of all the math involved. I should try to relearn concepts that I forgot or never could do, and see if I could help her learn math so she doesn't have to avoid those things. It seems like she does math in a way that's similar to the way that I do and that if I explain things to her that it's easier for her to understand things.

We got in an accident on the f*****g freeway on the way to work where a giant ass truck didn't stop and rear-ended us and sandwiched our tiny car between it and another truck. The car is totaled and both of our necks hurt because of whiplash. Glass went everywhere and some stuff in the car hit me. I'm glad I tried to not tense up too much so I didn't get really hurt.

Glad to know you're mostly okay.

Thank you. I didn't even know what was going on before he smashed into us w/o stopping at all. When I heard the crash and the glass shatter I thought we were gonna die or be really injured because the other cars involved were both trucks and my aunts car is so small.

The officer that came to the accident dropped us off at a restaurant. We're going to go to urgent care after my dad picks us up. He sounded f*****g annoyed about having to do it and didn't sound concerned at all, I hate dealing with him.

My anxiety is very bad. I was all worried that Barb's son would tell her not to be friends with me for obvious reasons because she was annoyed that I phoned when he was at her place. I had nothing to worry about at all.

It's pretty impressive how well engineered cars are for keeping the contents of the cabin safe, even if the rest of the car looks demolished. Everything that collapses is absorbing energy that would otherwise be transmitted to the occupants.

I'd get looked at, especially if it's covered by insurance. If there's ongoing issues having your injuries documented will help as you fight that battle.

I think a lot of us are prone to worrying over irrational responses from other people that are less likely than we assume.

Catastrophic thinking will do that.

I don't think people's children can tell them who to be friends with.
Barb is a sweet pea and she wouldn't tolerate that.

I'm glad it worked out OK, CR.
