i just got up, had the strangest dream [aren't they really ALL the "strangest dream"? ] where i was in the back yard of one of my parents' houses from long ago, the back patio was just constructed and there was leftover construction fill [rocky dirt] spread about, and where i stepped in it were holes exposing the grass below, so i took a nearby rake and filled in the holes but more holes [and more construction fill] appeared and soon after filling hole after hole with the ever-increasing amount of dirt popping up i soon was on top of a mountain of the stuff overlooking the roof of the house. then i found myself back in high school, and it was the end of the school day and i was trying to find a shortcut out of the back end of the building when i ran into the principal who happened to be Richard Nixon [ex US president], he was having a discussion with some educational officials, and i went by him and went through a pre-school play area and was about to go out the door when i noticed it was an emergency door, it had a blue electrical wire coming from a sensor plate on the door jamb, and Nixon noticed me and gave me a dirty look, so i took the longer way outside, and soon i was outside in the cloudy daylight, i went around a corner and was about to climb a concrete stairway with concrete walls on either side, and something possessed me to jump upon the left wall, only thing was actress Barbara Streisand was on top of it dressed like a statue, engaging in an impromptu skit with prairie home companion actress Sue Scott standing atop the opposite wall, about a female relative that was doing all the wrong things- and i tried to walk around Streisand when i lost my footing and was about to fall so i instinctively grabbed onto Barbara and we both almost fell but she was strong and righted us both. then she said to me in her typical brooklynese insouciant flipness, "y'know, mebbe you shoulda just fell down there and taken the consequences" - to which i replied by showing her the scars on my arms from my bike accident, and exclaiming, "one of these accidents is quite enough!" - she then athletically hopped down to the ground, pointed to her scarred knees and said, "so you think broken arms are tough, you should try broken knees sometime!"- to which i replied, "listen- at those levels of pain it's all academic!" and we both laughed at that, at which point i awoke.

I generally have weird dreams, based around sci-fi, in which I am some how deficient in the scenario.

I did have a dream a number of years ago that was out of the norm for me, where all I did was sit in front of my computer and update my anti-virus software.

I dreamt I went down to my parents' basement, and in the distance I saw a carpenter's wooden bubble level [construction tool for making sure things are horizontal or vertical] rose up off the floor and flew towards me, then started beating me up until I was able to grab it at which point it sank back down to the ground. then I went upstairs and some strange woman stabbed me with a pen repeatedly until I grabbed the pen from her, then she disappeared. then I dreamt my late mother and sister were in the house, my sister was sleeping, and I somehow took one of my old cars parked in the garage, shrank it down to model-size, then put it in the back seat of my mom's car. then I helped my mother load a moving van full of the household goods, not sure where she was moving to [other than heaven].

I'm worried about the last dream I had because it made me think I'm racist. I was in a house or apartment that was absolutely filthy. There was junk everywhere, and my cats didn't have a litter box and were using a bunch of towels or rags to relieve themselves. A big screen TV was on and blaring loudly. It was very late at night but I was trying to tidy and control all the chaos. Then a homeless-looking older man who was black - or looked more like he had just bathed in some brown shoe polish - barges in and tells me he wants to thank me for being kind to him, which I don't remember doing, in fact I never met this guy before at all. Then he mumbles what sounds vaguely like a marriage proposal. I'm very shocked and said no and ordered him to leave. That's when the place was filled with all kinds of people laughing and talking loudly to each other. I tell them they all have to leave, the "party" or whatever it was is over and the place is a mess and I have to clean it. They don't listen but continue talking. Then I screamed "SHUT UP!!" for real, and woke myself up.

Actually, I might have told the homeless guy he could stay because I felt like a jerk, but everyone else had to go.

Last night i dreamt I ate a massive marshmallow and woke up to find my pillow missing!! (Sorry bad joke)

Seriously though I have 2 comments to make about dreams, I always have vivid dreams which seem so real. Often I dream i am at home but my home Is where I used to live, before I moved 16 yers ago.

Secondly I tend to have precognative dreams where I dream about certain things before thy happen, often about my soccer team, and what I dream often happens and this is more accurate than coincidence, admittedly it doesn't happen as much now.

Professor
To see a professor in your dream symbolizes higher learning and wisdom. You will have prominence in some field.
Teacher
To see a professor you've seen before now in your dream suggests that you are seeking some advice, guidance, or knowledge. You are heading into a new path in life and are ready to learn by example or from a past experience.

most of it evaporated upon waking, but I dreamt that I was talking to clint eastwood as he appeared in his 1968 movie "coogan's bluff" - we were at a table with a bunch of carpentry tools on it, and I picked up an awl and made a wordplay alliterative joke about it, and he laughed at me.

I used to work in retail and I would have recurring, vivid nightmares about the customers spontaneously turning into zombies. Hordes of zombie customers would pour into the store, wreaking havoc, destroying everything, and trying to eat me. It pretty much mirrored my daily routine of work in the real world, except the customers were very much alive :skull:

The worst part of those dreams was the zombie customers ruining the seasonal displays I had carefully built/arranged and I would try to fix it, as they were swarming.

btw, hiya and welcome to wp :)
To dream that you are attacked by zombies indicate that you are feeling overwhelmed by forces beyond your control. You are under tremendous stress in your waking life. Alternatively, the dream represents your fears of being helpless and overpowered.

The latest one I had was somehow seeing a lot of... people one would consider friends, in one place, which is odd because they are from different countries. Even more odd was they were more friendly than usual, possibly slightly drunk. One detail that kind of freaked me out is a couple of them were excessively huggy?!

Honestly, not the most odd dream I had, but its timing was odd. I was worried about losing my current lot of "friends".

I dreamed I was at a carnival with a person who was my best friend back in early childhood. I bought a big bag of blue cotton candy. The friend complained that there wasn't much to do there, and then we headed to the nearby mall. In the store there were all kinds of dolls for sale and I wanted to buy one but couldn't make up my mind or find the doll I wanted. Someone had taken most of the dolls out of their boxes and it was a mess. I finally found a doll I wanted but she was out of her box and her accessories were all over the place. By the time I got to the checkout the store was closing and then they even turned out the lights and said we all had to go home but a cashier was nice enough to let me pay for the doll. It cost over 60 dollars! But I was able to get enough change out of my purse to pay for it and that's all I remember.

Maybe the dream has something to about my going to the Farmer's Exhibition a couple weeks ago with my parents, and afterwards we went to the mall and it was late evening so it wasn't very busy.
