Not mine, anyway.
I was taught not to discuss politics, religion, or anything controversial in social conversations.
My brother has a special interest in politics but he knows better than to rant about it.
During the Christmas Eve / Christmas gatherings my family talked about movies.
I barely spoke since I don't know the movies.


On my mind:
What acts of charity to do for Boxing Day.

i'm in second place then by a hair. senses were saturated at the party, particular aural ones.

My nervous system has been through a woodchipper since July.
The fine grinding was this week.

let us hope the grinding will go away henceforth with the new year at least.

with lemon twist? you all got your celebratory days in a row. i understand boxing day is a big deal, rather like our president's day and new years day rolled into one?

It's a big deal in my family.
I don't know about others.

I hate New Year's Day.
My worst day of the year usually.
Total overwhelm.

What's President's Day about?

Presidents' Day, also called Washington's Birthday at the federal governmental level, is a holiday in the United States celebrated on the third Monday of February to honor all persons who served as POTUS. it's national and many jobs including all gov't jobs [non-essential employees] have it off. often there are president's day sales all over the place. new year's day depresses the daylights outta me. it is like Sisyphus having to shove that big boulder up that big hill all over again.

Oh dear. I hate that. I saw people going insane about Black Friday a few years ago on TV.

Some people think that's what Boxing Day is but it's actually about acts of charity -- the absolute opposite of consumer mayhem.





Same. I'm afraid of it. It feels ominous and foreboding to me.

prego and we do wring the life [and dark hair] out of our presidents, we are a hardly governable nation. no "peace and order" here. all our POTUS's are gray-haired after we're finished with 'em.
seems just a few weeks ago i took care of my property tax, income tax, vehicle tab tax, tin can insurance. now i have to do all that sheet again in just a few weeks. ach.
