Oh dear ProfessorX, I certainly believe that you shall not happily burden or any friends within WrongPlanet.

On my mind.....I am thinking that ProfessorX could never burden nor bother anyone, it's not in his nature. :thumleft:

:( I wish I could buy you food. Unfortunately, I think the best I can do is suggest you carefully budget for the most cost effective foods. :? When I had no money, it served me very well when I discovered that lots of rice plus a little other stuff (vegetables, meat, fish, whatever you prefer) goes a long way and can be very satisfying.

thanks Kaybee, i have budgeted as best i could. with my OCD and resulting phobia of sharing a fridge, freezer, oven or microwave it is slightly harder. if i felt i could cook, especially with rice, i'd probably be fine.. relatively anyway. but thanks for your concern & advice. made me feel nice :) got a little food now, but saving it until i'm desperate as i've spent the last of my money. also now really wanting some rice lol d'oh

She's right it can be very satisfying, I love rice, vegetables and gravy. Noodles and pastas are good to have with other foods too. It's the same kind of thing. Eggs, hot dogs, peanut butter, and all kinds of beans are good sources of protein that usually aren't expensive to buy. I like to buy easy to fix things like mac and cheese, canned chili, soups, tuna fish, grilled cheese, things like that. I try buying things on sale as much as possible helps sometimes. If you don't like to cook for one, which I don't, try fixing things in a slow cooker. I imagine you could get some recipes online for slow cookers. I sometimes cook a lot and freeze many seperate portions for sometime later. All this talk of food is making me hungry. I wish you all the best Fudo. :)

Why can't you cook, because you can't share fridge, oven, etc? Not being able to cook does make it difficult. Taupey has good advice. Perhaps you could find a cheap microwave (or crock pot, as per Taupey's suggestion--and I agree, I like crock pots) which you wouldn't have to share. I don't know how much rice cookers cost there, but they make it very easy and convenient to cook rice, and you can put some things in them to steam as well, so that might be useful to you. I know it's not easy to get a new appliance when you're low on money, but if you did get one, it could lower your food costs. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you aren't starving to death over there. ^_^

has no space for a crock pot, whatever that is. or microwave (i don't trust them, too powerful, scares me)
also i've already started 2 fires by accident in my small room..
'can't' cook, because everything's shared yes. severe mysophobia and people here barely ever wash their hands. even after using the lavatory. in my irrational eyes, everything they touch is contaminated and will never be clean, i know it's irrational, hence OCD rather than psychosis. please don't try to convince me it is safe etc, well-intentioned though it may be arguing reason against emotion will not work.. anyways, i'd briefly forgotten about food yay :)

WP is stating to turn into what MSN was back in the late 90's and this could be seen as something good or bad though, I'll let others make that determination as, I simply reserve my answer for a later time.
