i dreamt i was someplace relating to work, like i was late to work or to get to someplace where i urgently needed to be, but my shoelaces unraveled on both feet, so i laboriously squatted down to undo and redo them but they kept getting caddywampus no matter how i tried to fix 'em. i awoke in a sweat, tired and out of sorts.

I was standing between two trains going in opposite directions. It was very close and as long as I didn't move, I wouldn't be hit by either one.

I have a recurring dream that is a classic "have-to-get-somewhere-but-I'm-lost" dream. The weird part is that it's always been in the same complex of connected buildings & structures. New areas just get built on each time the dream happens & I get semi-lost in them trying to reach [some goal]. It's not that panicked feeling of being lost, more like being familiar with a really complex environment and having too many ways to get to a destination. Just had it again a few nights ago & I had to get through a old folks retirement complex that included a massive common area, apartment towers and maybe fifteen floors of rooms surrounding the commons. Of course, there was no direct way to go from anywhere to anywhere else...

I just woke up over an hour ago with a dream about eating and drinking different sodas.

I got this bottle of Mr. Pibb (I don't think I remember the last time I drank the stuff), which tasted really good, then I got a bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper, but it didn't taste as good as the other stuff. Then I noticed something was wrong with the bottle of Mr. Pibb I was drinking. It had this weird cloudiness to it, and I could taste onions in it. For some reason, a random group of people were helping me investigate as to why that is. We were in my kitchen, and I sifted the Mr. Pibb. I found out that it did in fact have onions in it, plus whatever dirt or something that was in it too. A man who was talking to me said he found out it was an old bottle that wasn't being sold and they put a different date on it so it would still seem fresh.

Soda
To drink soda in your dream indicates that you need to be more bubbly or vivacious. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you need to be refreshed or rejuvenated.
Onion
To see or eat onions in your dream represent the multitude of layers that you need to get through in order to unveil what is really underneath. You need to dig a little deeper into a situation or problem. The dream may be a metaphor for some revelation.
Kitchen
To see a kitchen in your dream signifies your need for warmth, spiritual nourishment and healing. It may also be symbolic of the nurturing mother or the way that you are for your loved ones. Alternatively the kitchen represents a transformation. Something new or life altering is about to occur. The dream could also be telling you that if "you can't stand the heat, then you need to get out of the kitchen". You need to abort your plans.

i dreamt i was trying to get home from school, and i missed the bus and was walking alone on an unfamiliar road trying to make it home in a reasonable amount of time but time flew by and it was getting dark, then several musicians and activists [they called themselves musactivists] came along and took me with them to their house, where i had to go to the bathroom really urgently so i went in there and to my horror made a huge mess that the more i tried to clean it the messier it got, meanwhile musactivists came and went inside the bathroom and ignored me. then i awoke.

a snippet of remembered nightmare [a "soft" one] is I was watching some sort of large-screen TV on the wall, it was a point-of-view thing where the viewer was following some Asian middle-aged man when all of a sudden I see a splash of blood and gunshots, and he goes down, then as I was wondering what happened/what was the camera hiding from aiming high, the camera pans down and on his lower torso and lower half of his body I see lots of jagged bloody bullet holes and torn flesh covered in dark venous blood. and as I was wondering why this happened, I awoke.

I dreamed that Oprah Winfrey died. I believe that it's possible that our dreams are some sort of amalgamation of things that happened that day / recently, in our lives----so, I have NO idea why I would be thinking about Oprah (I don't watch her show / network, for instance).

You have to ask yourself "what does Oprah Winfrey represent...to me" to figure out why you dreamt that.

Actually-that's true of any dream. Ask not what such-and-such "means", but what it means to you. Dreams are symbolic, but the symbolism is idiosyncratic to the person dreaming.

Keep us posted if you think of something.

I've never been convinced of the existence of symbolism in dreams.

For example, my most frequent dream topic is that of floating/flying. I don't believe that to be symbolic of anything. Rather, I think it is due to the fact that since my feet and legs aren't bearing the weight of my body, my mind jumps to the conclusion that when I'm dreaming, I must be floating as I move around. When it is cold outside and inside since I like sleeping with the window open even if the temperature is in the twenties or less, and I have fairly heavy blankets on top of me, I don't dream of floating at all -- more than ever I feel almost tied down.

Huh, that's very interesting. Upon further reflection, though, I think it was just that I found-out, 3 weeks ago, today, that one of my sisters died (so, that was probably in the back of my mind), and I remember seeing a movie clip on some TV show, and thinking "Was that Oprah?" (so, THAT was in the back of my mind, I guess), and I just "fused" the two together, in my dream.

What YOU said, is certainly something to keep-in-mind..... THANKS!!

I dreamt I met a certain unnamed WP member, in a place that was reminiscent of earth but not really earth. it was out in the country some place, with silvery-golden light that came from everywhere and nowhere. the trees looked fake, the building looked like it was made to look artificially old although the construction looked new. a voice in the background, a familiar yet unidentifiable voice, said "aren't those green trees lovely? isn't the lighting wonderful?" I briefly spent a bit of time inside, it was a warren of little cubicles with office workers, and on the outside I walked around the yard, with a scraggly growth of grass all around. I stepped into an alley paved with gravel, and walked for what seemed a half block before I reached the other side of the building where I met this unnamed WPer, we walked into his cubicle and he showed me how to do his service dispatching job, which I did briefly before waking.

I dreamed I went to a store and got two puppies. They were golden retriever pups, I think. I'm going on about how cute they are, but after I brought them to my parent's house (I think they were gifts for my parents),
I soon found myself stepping in a pile of puppy poop in my sock feet! :eew:

Then there was sort of an an argument where my parents wanted to train them to go on newspaper, but I said they should go outside instead.

I had a dream last night that I was born in Denmark and the rest of the dream was my birthday. It was a celebration type of birthday.

You're welcome.

Taylor Swift figured in a recent dream. Her role in the story could be taken as symbolic of something in my life, but that was probably just a coincidence. Maybe, maybe not.

But years ago there was a time in which Eric Clapton used crop up in dreams. And that was definitely symbolic of certain things.
