When I was waiting in line at a grocery store once, an older woman came up behind me and put her hands on my waist to get by. I wasn't at all expecting it. I was really close to having a public freak-out - the closest I've ever been.

People should not touch me unless we are close and I can see them/am expecting it or they have my permission first. It's triggering as f**k.

I can't curl up in a tight enough ball. I feel like a f*****g hedgehog.

I'm sorry. :(

Don't be. I'll just have to duck out of reading certain threads.

It was actually something else unrelated that tipped me over this morning to be honest.

Welcome to my world. I trigger people here all the time, I've only got to say the word "the" and it offends someone. Makes me want to shoot myself in the head.

Hmmm… I can’t say that I’ve seen that.

When people are triggered on here, I can generally see why. They typically have a very good reason to be.

People often imply that others are being too sensitive/getting upset over nothing in an attempt to justify their own behavior rather than take any responsibility for it. It’s pretty transparent.

The unexpected shoulder squeeze is the worst.
Hands off back off.

I hate when I share a bed with someone and their foot touches me. The worst is a cold foot. I can't stand anyone breathing in my ear, or hearing anyone's heartbeat. I need my space even with partners, unless I decide it's "that time" and I'm OK with it. With strangers, yeah ..... don't even think about touching me. When little kids pull at my clothes or poke me for attention I have to restrain myself from wanting to deck them. It's an involuntary response.

When someone says "I hate my child's autism" I hate when people respond with "but autism is what makes up your child so that means you hate your child." No, they don't mean that at all. They just mean they wish their child wasn't challenging and was better at making friends to survive in this world - and was liked and accepted by their peers. They hate their child's autism because they love their child. Your child is not autism, it is your child. Autism is just something they have got, it is not a personality.

If your grandparent got dementia would saying "I hate my grandparent's dementia" mean you hate your grandparent? No.

It depends on the individuals involved.

I never would say that I hate my son’s autism or anything else about him. He’s Practically Perfect in Every Way, like his mother.

I can commiserate with parents who have lower functioning, nonverbal kids with behavioral issues, but in most instances, autism is not debilitating or devastating in the same way dementia is.

I’ve been eating really poorly because of stress. In April I lived on ice cream and lost weight. In May I think it was crisps and Pop Tarts. Lately it’s been French toast with syrup. I decided I’d likely gained weight on all that sugar so I was avoiding checking, but turns out I’ve lost another 12 lbs. At this point I’m going to evaporate, it seems. I didn’t need to lose any weight. Maybe it’s my med adjustment or maybe stress is truly eating me alive. It feels like the latter.

:(

Thanks

Best time of day this for me. I've done everything for the day. I've had my tea, washed all the dishes and put everything away and now I'm stretched out on my sofa with a brew.

Worse part of the day for me, I have to try and motivate myself to walk round the woods when I don't really want to leave the house.
