^ Congratulations! Well done! :D

I've been doing battle with Hughesnet who has taken $107 of my dollars and won't give it back, even though I canceled the service and returned all their equipment. This time they have promised to refund my money in 24-48 hours. We shall see...

Carpenter hat on today, I guess. Put new waterproofing tape on top of the painted bearers. They weren't painted before, which I think was a mistake, but they held up quite well compared to the joists. Used two layers overlapping. Put old and new braces back on, then used sealant with the screws so no water leaks in, because that wasn't done either (this is kinda what messed up the joists). Just need new joists and floorboards and it's all good. Dill can consider himself a builder when done? I'm sure it'll probably have record levels of rain throughout autumn and winter though. :| Just rebuilding the deck stuff.

Heard the music up the road last night, which I guess has been...2-3 months now? On time. Usually four a year. I figure within two months there'll be another trespasser. Just Operation Autistic Loser stuff. Both guys used a similar time of ingress, I guess so that it wouldn't be night when they left, just afternoon traffic hours (which is pretty smart if so). I'm sure it'll be the same since it worked (well, not really, but I guess it did). But hey, it might just be all coincidence. Third time is a charm though.

I'm not a carpenter and have to make do with what materials and limited skills I have. But today I constructed a teepee with bamboo poles and covered it with bird netting. I had to sort through the bamboo to find poles that were tough enough and not disintegrating. Used the chain saw to trim them to the appropriate length. I attached it all with zipties. The point is to keep the catbirds and the possums out of my jaboticaba tree while it is fruiting. I lost the entire first batch to Petunia (our resident possum.) I don't intend to lose the next crop that is just being to fill out.

So I was at this birthday party and they said they couldn't get this electric scooter to work because they couldn't connect it to the app. They had had it for months but could never ride it. I got it working. She was so happy.

Also I wanted the Alexa in Jane's room to play using her spotify account and not mine. It kept on playing on my spotify account. Even after I had Jane set up voice recognition it kept on saying it was "registered to my account". I tried following the instructions on the internet. They said to say stuff like "Alexa, register to Jane's account" but it didn't work. So I derigestered the Alexa and went through the setup process from scratch, using Jane's phone. Now it plays music on her spotify account instead of mine.

Made a trellis for sweet potato vines with pallet, bamboo, a couple of cement blocks and a few stakes left over from an old project. I can't pound in stakes or bamboo to keep them from falling over. I put down a cement block, pound in the stake as far as I can and then fill the hole in the cement block with soil. Works great.

Finished restoring some lime walls in an ancient farm house, it's been a right pain so I'm happy it's finally over.

Unblocked the kitchen sink, not the problem but yuk, putting the silly collection of pvc elbows together and then have no leaks that's the challenge, fingers crossed on this.

^^yeah those lime walls, i do the hemp-lime as well, that's so heavy

Fine sandpaper to smooth it all out and then the blue glue seems to work alright.

Weeded a garden bed on my knees with a hand shovel. Wondering why I had to be part of the unlucky majority that don’t suffer anaphylactic shock from green ant stings. :| I only have deadpan morbid humor. Maybe critically failed my skill check at computer jury rigging. Because apparently carbon neutral delivery means Dill is last in line. Found another tranquilliser and an anti-migraine tablet under various pieces of furniture, which will go in the odds and ends bag for Armageddon. The latter is just an anti-psychotic in disguise, which I find funny. They’re all on me. There was a dead ant next to the tranq. :? Avoided meltdowns via...no idea.

Look ma, no parentheses. That’ll be an achievement. (I’m not letting you win, phone, which I probably won’t have much access to sadly.)
