I climbed Mount Washington too. It was in 2002 or 2003. I also climbed Mount Katahdin in 2000. The Mount Katahdin trip was my favorite because the weather was perfect. I also went whale watching while I was in Maine.

Have you ever gone whale watching?

Not on purpose LOL. My mother took me on a cruise to Alaska about 2008-2009. It just so happens there was a small herd of whales gallivanting near our ship. They were a bit too far away for me to really appreciate the gallivanting--alas! A good pair of binoculars would have been great at that point!

I went to Mount Washington in September. The low was 33 degrees in the lowland part (about 1,000 feet in elevation). It was in the 60s by day, with a calm wind At Mount Washington, approximately 6,200 feet in elevation, it was in the upper 30's, with gusts of up to about 35 mph (relatively tranquil conditions!)

Ever thought about swimming with a dolphin?

In some ways yes.

Ever thought of writing a book or directing a film?

What a memory!

I would definitely like to swim with a dolphin. I like to swim without dolphins. Lol I love the water.

I've always wanted to write a book, but I'm not sure if I'm focused enough to actually write a book in its entirety.

Same question

I actually tried to do an autobiography but, gave up when I found it very difficult to include what I felt was pertinent about my life.

Is the landscape in your territory varied?

I'm a fairly good swimmer. I learned how to swim when I was 7, in summer camp near Montrose, PA.

At Camp Harrelson, when I was five, I went beyond waist-deep water for the first time; I had a real fear of water at that time. That was the research camp I mentioned previously.

I like water.....I like the view at night on the ocean, when I can see the expanse of the ocean--which seems infinite. This is especially pleasing when a lighthouse is visible in the distance.

Ever rescued somebody? I was once rescued, though I've never rescued anybody.

I write poetry. I once lost about 300 poems when I moved--circa 1989. I used to be very bad in depicting dialogue; I've gotten a bit better recently--so maybe I can write a novel--who knows? LOL

The land is a mix of valleys and mountains, woods and fields.

Who is your favorite author?

William F Nolan author of "Logan's Run" and many other sci-fi greats.

Do you enjoy watching film from earlier times, despite poor picture quality?

Yes, I particularly love films from the German Expressionist movement, so much thought went into composition. The restorations are pretty good for the most part these days, too.

If you had a time machine, where/when would you go?

I love "Crime and Punishment"

It's hard to pick a favorite. My favorite fantasy author is Tolkien. My favorite Victorian author is Charlotte Bronte or Dickens. My favorite modernist author is Virginia Woolf. I love Jane Austen too.

If I had a time machine, I would go back to the Classical time period when there were dryads, naiads, gods and goddesses. It would be extremely interesting.

I was go back to 1381, the year of the Peasants' Revolt, in England.

It was fascinating how Richard II, at the age of 14, negotiated with the peasant contingent. He became sort of an ineffectual king later.

I like George Eliot and Charles Dickens from the Victorian Era. As far as Modernism is concerned: James Joyce and O Henry. Jane Austen was a most clear and concise novel writers, when that quality in novels was sorely lacking.

This despite the fact that I heartily enjoyed "Tom Jones," which was a wide-ranging soap opera, though not as vast as "War and Peace."

If you had a time machine, where/when would you go? I'd go to Middle Kingdom of Egypt, yet I'd only observe from a distance not intervene nor interfere whatsoever.

Ever wonder why certain things exists, mainly poisonous insects and other such deadly animate things?

I understand why these animals exist. The poison is for self-defense. I don't believe they were put on this Earth to harm us.

Are you amazed that the Pyramids were built without the aid of the Wheel?

I never really thought about it before. But it is pretty cool. I wonder how they got the blocks up there.

Same question.
