I don't really post about serious stuff because it requires much more use of the brain.
That's pretty much how I feel as well! I however don't find it draining to be nice online. I can actually be myself online without any problems. That includes all the gaming communities I've been in as well. The biggest reason why real life is so much harder for me is that it requires verbal communication. My verbal intelligence quotient is probably very low, I have never been tested for it so I'm not sure.

Agreed. Most of the time I'm here, I'm in the mood for relaxing. Even when I'm serious, I can think about things that are irrelevant to my surroundings, and communicate my irrelevant thoughts. Because of this, I generally post in places where one can post respectably without strictly adhering to a topic.

Occasionally, I'll post elsewhere. However, I've posted primarily in Off The Wall and here from the very start.
Same here! The only other place where I post frequently is the video games section. It's my main interest after all.

Yay more new people 8) Hello Gracey, Mooming and Sciuridae!

I also stick to less serious posting unless I have had a very relaxing day or I am feeling unusually pensive. I have seen a bunch of you on Off The Wall and I'm happy to see you here!

Yes, Ten, it was last June but after I posted here yesterday I went in search of that PM thread and reposted. Thanks for posting the link Kjas and I hope it works for you Ferralucce.

I have to admit that I sometimes feel that my views here on WP are either overlooked or mocked. For example, this thread:

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt229379.html

I would have to question how many ways there are to boast about one's post count while missing the intent of the thread.

I am aware that there are disagreements with some of my views, but I have been willing to debate those points as long as they are not couched in mockery or outright insults to Aspies in general.

Well, I'm still of the opinion of quality vs. quantity with regards to post count, so I've failed there :P

And that's why I never boast or make threads about reaching milestones and whatnot

Agreed! Who cares about post counts, the quality is what matters.

I really like your ideas AgentPalpatine. I have no idea how an offline Aspie community would work but I will certainly follow it if anything like it ever happens.

my idea that i am unpopular has not been adequately described in the pages of the popularity magazines of my time.
i feel that i have no idea as to what i am thinking unless i get conformation from an agony aunt that it is paid by a publication to continously sprout her wrords..
popularity is a tertiary by product of being engaging i guess.

Hello Popsicle and Smudge! Why do you both feel unpopular?

I enquired about a meetup near me, and I got no response. This guy responded to everyone else though.

I feel quite misjudged, but what can I do? That is life.

Plus nobody on here particularly makes conversation with me.

Why do you feel unpopular on here?

Huh, that's really odd. How did he respond to the rest? Via mail?

smudge wrote:

Indeed it is. I'm sure this is a feeling many can share here.

smudge wrote:

You can always try posting at the "PM a WP member you've not PMed before" thread if you want to have a conversation with another WPer. Joining the WP chat room could also help. I have never been there myself but I'm sure there are people there that like making conversations.

I don't feel very unpopular anymore. Originally I posted here because I didn't really have anyone to PM with. Since that post a few very nice people actually send me a PM and we're still sending messages back and forth. :D It is still however quite hard for me to go around here. Biggest reasons being that I'm Dutch (language and cultural differences) and that I'm not very smart unlike most other people here. I also have a mild form of dyslexia which makes it even harder. Thank god for spelling checker! It corrects me occasionally. :P

At least people repound to your post no-one repounds to mine.
